About Touhou Crawl
Conquer the Dungeon-ified Gensokyo! This game is a Touhou fan-made roguelike heavily inspired by Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup.
This game is based on a project I created a long time ago, now being improved with localization support, quality-of-life features, additional content, and rebalancing. It will be released as a free game on Steam.

This isn't a touhou rogue-like this is touhou ROGUE, it's as rogue like as a roguelike can get without just being a direct port of the original game, and it's an absolute treat as a result. The controls take a bit of getting used to, since it is Rogue: touhou edition, everything is a keybind and those keybinds are case sensitive for various things. And as is only appropriate for a proper rogue game the difficulty is heavily varied, and the dice can give you a 1 shot on a boss just as quickly as they can by sheer mass of fairy bodies in a field chew through your maxed armor. I've yet to properly finish a run but It's scratched my "one more go" itch enough to far longer in sessions than intended both times I've booted it up. Also a few varieties of gamba gods to choose from on the sliding scale Highly recommend, and the game's free so even if it winds up not being your thing you're only really out the time Only real complaints are I wish it wasnt just one song on repeat, it's not offensive or grating but it'd be nice, also a few more flavored characters, sakuya for the pile of throwing knives around for instance, or hata for spears or nemuno for greatswords, given we're doublin…1 found this helpful
A lovely DCSS inspired roguelike! To be honest I'm still not sure what the strategy with defense is, but it's really fun!1 found this helpful
I never played Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup, but I've played a ton of Nethack and Slash'Em, and less of Angband and TOME. Against those, Touhou Crawl misses some niceties like the up/down-stairs buttons autopathing you to stairs to take, and at least in shallow levels it seems to have slightly less interesting level design. Against those, Touhou Crawl has a huge advantage of: Touhou. Instead of Knight, Mage, Tourist, you can spawn as Reimu or Marisa or any of the Three Fairies, or more. Instead of some boring lawful/neutral/chaotic gods with not much influence on the game, there are Touhou gods whose granted powers can completely change a run. My gameplay bored one God so she destroyed walls with earthquakes - thus freeing some strong monsters from behind glass, who chased me down and killed me. In another run as Star Sapphire I recruited three additional fairies and fought as a small army of six fairies and could empower them with Great Fairy War. As Reimu I preferred to retreat into hallways so I couldn't be surrounded; as Star Sapphire I would run into rooms and summon my army (which got me bisected by a samurai). Even when playing as a particular character, by changing Gods and b…
