Gensokyo’s fate is in the hands of Reimu once again! Crawl through dungeons, battle battalions of enemies, and investigate enigmas alongside familiar Touhou heroines. FORESIGHT continues the Touhou Genso Wanderer series based on Team Shanghai Alice's doujin game "Touhou Project".The Story:
Shrine maiden Reimu finds herself in a strange corridor filled with foes. After suffering defeat in battle, she loses consciousness, then awakens inside the Hakurei Shrine with no memory of recent events.With Marisa Kirisame's help, guide Reimu through dozens of dungeons to save Gensokyo from the torment of an unknown enemy. Rebuild the sacred shrine to its former glory while unveiling clues explaining its destruction.
Rebuild the Hakurei Shrine!
- Enlist the help of 60 different Touhou characters, each with distinct spells and abilities, creating custom builds with right-hand weapons and left-hand armor items
- Battle a brutal bestiary including fairies, vampires, and supernatural shapeshifters to earn materials and treasures to rebuild and outfit the Hakurei Shrine
- Solve mysterious incidents in the Human Village to acquire stat-boosting “boards” that can raise Reimu’s stats
- Grow after every enemy encounter, granting permanent stat boosts to Reimu throughout the journey
- Collect donations and spend earned funds with the help of Suika Ibuki and the many fairies ready to help (in exchange for sake, of course), and enhance the Hakurei Shrine’s form and function
- Return to the Shrine with each death. But not to worry, overcome setbacks without losing upgrades and newly obtained gear, and fast track completed levels to maintain momentum

I was excited about it. But when I look at the videos of it, I was like "Man, what happened here? Who are the developers trying to impress?" - The older entries (Including Fushigi no Gensokyo 1) has these charming 3D cutscenes. Foresight is the 3rd sequel of the Genso Wanderer/Fushigi no Gensokyo series and it doesn't have any 3D cutscenes. - The artstyle is fine. But, it doesn't feel quite as charming as the artstyle from the older entries. RIP Reimu with a massive bow and Alice with noodle hair. - Most of the story is basically the arcs of Touhou 6-8. This is basically Nostalgia Pandering. Kobuto V did this, Azure Reflections did this, even Touhou LostWord did this. This is like how the Mario spin-offs only being like New Super Mario Bros. by theme. It's like we're in the "safe" era of Touhou fangames. - This game mostly uses characters from Touhou 6-8, some from 16 and 18, and barely any from the others. The worst part is that they didn't include all of them. Like why does Chen appear in the dungeons, but Ran and Yukari are nowhere to be seen? Why did they have all of the characters from Imperishable Night, but left out Mokou? Why did they have Suika and Miyoi, but not Yuugi or…7 found this helpful
As a standalone game? Fine I suppose, but you can get way more, especially for that money. More content, more substance. It is a mystery dungeon game, with a linear story that just rehashes Touhou 6 - 9 (if I remember correctly), adds a little bit of extra with what quite frankly looks like some edgy teen's first OC (I like that but it just does not belong) with some terrible writing (at some point, a tear-filled breakdown with plentiful sobbing and self-doubt is followed up with "Ah, blew over." in SECONDS. One screen to the next.) with your classic Mystery Dungeon hunger mechanic, but oops! This game removed the crafting from the prequels! Gotta rely on RNG, sucker! But most dungeons are so comically short that it's hardly an issue at least. Still an unfair death if you're unlucky. Oh, and weapons can NO longer be crafted AND no longer be leveled and therefore no longer get ranked up with new abilities. And there is SO so few different weapons compared to the other games. The variety, gone. The strategy from crafting, gone. And the dungeons? Barely any anymore. The only "optional" ones are tiny detours from the main quest. If you are new to the series, do not buy this part, start with the first part or the second. Well, 34 hours and the game is closed with 100% achievements. To be honest, I don’t understand the hate towards the game from old players. Let's say I completed the first part on the PSP, the second part on the switch, and this part on the steamdeck. Each part has its own characteristics. Yes, they simplified this part by significantly cutting off many mechanics, but I personally felt the balance in this part was better than in the first parts where you just pump any stick to level 100 and run all the way, the seals began finaly work on the gameplay. Another aspect that made me very happy is that the plot was based on cases from the original parts. For me, like for many players, going through the original games about bullethell is simply terrible. Overall, I'm very pleased with the game, although my favorite part will still remain second. Yes, she also sagged in terms of mechanics, unlike the first one, but there you could gather squads of girls and send them to the dungeon, and here you can only play as Reimu, well, partners 3 of which simply don’t make sense.

I relished every moment of stabbing Tewi. She had it coming.
5 years after leaving Genso Wanderer Reloaded, i ran to this one. Compared to it, this one is much more simple. and our character is not severely overpowered. but still okay since this one gave me decent challenge because of it. game is more forgiving. dying didnt cause us to lose items. instead just rolling back to base in previous state before entering. just hours lost and regret lingers.
