About Trainee Death Simulator

About this game

You will play as a Trainee Death, harvesting Souls to pay off your debt. Random choice events offer you various options: Lie in bed and slack off since the debt is endless anyway, Or follow your senior to earn some extra Souls, collecting outfits to switch up your style. The life of an apprentice Death is hardly living, with limitless chances for dying and reliving.

Game play: Choices Above

You will encounter various random events that impact four attributes: Faith, Energy, Strength, and Evil. Every choice you make can alter the course of events, whether it’s getting lost in the Forest, falling into the void in the Death Tower, or turning into a monster in the Dreamworld—since you can always start over, feel free to make the choices you want.

Unique Worldview

Hundreds of years ago, the "Lord of Night" vanished without a trace from the Death Tower. With their top-tier combat power lost, the Deaths were unable to maintain the balance between Dreams and Reality. While other Deaths were struggling desperately, a Great Death followed the prophecy and brought in a large number of Trainee Deaths as 'expendables,' turning the tide of the situation for the better...

Integrate Historical Events

What I want to tell you is that Deaths truly exist, and every death is nudged along by one of them. Just look at history, at how those Deaths orchestrated deaths or joined in the harvest—wait a second, did you take part in it too?

Collect and Customize

Complete objectives in random events to earn new outfits and customize them freely. Even Death needs to dress well——I know you might not want to join me, but if I were...

Divine Artifacts

There are "Gods" in the celestial realm of this world, and by gazing at the stars, they will bestow Oracles upon those who are called.
Oracles have various effects, they might help you rise from the dead or make your situation worse - after all, there's no rule that says Gods must be benevolent.

Trainee Death Simulator, developed and published by Bone Nail, is a darkly humorous indie simulation that takes a morbid concept and turns it into something unexpectedly entertaining and thoughtful. Instead of playing as an all-powerful figure of death, you step into the shoes of a rookie reaper—an apprentice learning the ropes of soul collection under the oppressive weight of cosmic bureaucracy. The game combines stat management, branching decision-making, and light roguelike elements to create a fast-paced yet oddly reflective experience. Its premise may sound grim, but it uses irony and wit to transform the idea of death into a story of persistence, failure, and self-discovery, all framed within a delightfully absurd afterlife. At its core, the game revolves around a series of event-driven encounters where each decision you make affects four core attributes: Faith, Energy, Strength, and Evil. Balancing these stats is the key to survival, as pushing any of them too far—or letting them fall too low—can result in sudden demise or transformation. Every turn presents you with a choice, and like a supernatural trainee on probation, you must decide how to act when faced with various s…

Is good. Basically 2.5 Endings, the rest just resets the life inside the round. Cute Visuals, good story, nice gameplay. Repeated Round starts are annoying and autoclicker helped. Achivements are a bit hard to get, autoclicker and some luck helped again. After 10 hours i knew all cards by hears. Gambling is 10/10 Some select options can make you lose out on unlocking something like the trader. And Achivement Events can be skipped by being lazy and not joining them, which then locks them out until you achive one of the 2.5 true endings that reset the round and let you get these events again. Overall 7.5/10
