Unlike the portrayal of rural feudalistic customs from an urbanite's perspective in the previous work, this installment takes a different approach. It follows a youth, native to Tangxia Village, providing a perspective rooted in indigenous culture to depict the hidden feudalistic darkness and customs within Chinese villages more profoundly. Additionally, this installment emphasizes the theme of "family", and the humorous and comedic daily life elements from the previous work are preserved authentically, ensuring that you will not find this realistic and poignant subject matter dull. The protagonists and related characters from the previous work will also play crucial roles in this installment, interacting with the new main character, offering you a fresh perspective on the beautiful love story among the youths in the summer countryside.
Story
Little is known about Tangxia Village, a secluded small mountain village. The scenery here is picturesque, with a perpetual summer-like atmosphere throughout the seasons. For most people, it is like a utopia, but beneath this beauty, this village is rife with feudalistic customs incongruent with its idyllic surroundings. Human trafficking, gender bias, and archaic rituals such as ghost marriage persist in the village, remnants of the old society's customs.
The protagonist of the story, Ma Xiaodong, is the son of the Ma family, local landlords in this village. Living with his father, Ma Qingchen, his two sisters, Ma Minyi and Ma Wenhui, and his childhood friend, Zhu Qianyin, the five of them share a household. As the eldest son, Ma Xiaodong cherishes every day spent with his family, valuing them above all else. Though his father occasionally treats him harshly, he remains committed to the principle of filial piety.
Despite the seemingly peaceful surface, the inevitable conflict between personal growth and traditional beliefs creates tensions. Like a butterfly breaking free from its cocoon, changes in thoughts and contradictions with traditional values become apparent one summer. In this particular summer, long-hidden family secrets gradually surface. Faced with the impending darkness, the choices between change and tradition, how will the young boys and girls respond? Will the gears of their destiny begin to turn, propelling them towards new horizons? All the answers will be revealed in this summer.

Story about how certain you don’t always agree with family and their traditions. Although it takes place in the same village that was in the first game, you don’t need to know the story. Aside from one minor returning character, the whole thing revolves around completely different characters. However, the zealous respect for old traditions is still prominent in the village – you will know what this involves if you played the first game. This time, you are placed in the shoes of a young man who lives with his two sisters and father. There is another girl living there, but she came from somewhere else. They all grew up together, and she is a member of the family, but she is constantly assigned chores and punished for the smallest things. As you get older, you realize that this is not fair. You also start noticing other things, such as a forced marriage your sister has to go through. This chances something inside you, and now you have to fight against your dad and the traditions you grew up with. The game is pretty long and has four chapters. Disclaimer: I have only played the game in english. "Trajectory of summer flower Ⅱ" is a romantic vn that touches upon the subjects of family, tradition, rural customs and coming of age path (finding yourself). It is set in the same universe the first game introduced to us, a paradisian countryside full of secrets and a very dark past. This time around, the story is more well written, the characters more intersting (complicated yet simple), the plot more coherent and the partitioning into chapters was a good way to divide up the main points it wanted to show. The animations and the artwork are pleasant, the music helps with setting the mood, the voice acting is MUCH better (yes, it is fully voiced for 5 euros base price), the font easier to read and colorful (still difficult to read at times due to the background blending in), and the translation still needs work. It has alternative endings and choices but they also don't feel like they have any real impact. You can also finish it in one sitting but it's much longer this time. Yes, more enjoyable then the first and what an array of sisters, each wanting their special moment with the main character. With limited choices, it was easy to figure out what each wanted, not so easy to please them all.
