About The Scent of Summer
・Story
This is a short story of a boy and girl in elementary school 6th grade in Japan. You can experience to go back home from school with a girlfriend who goes the same cram school in the early summer evening. Special things don't happen but you can experience being with a girlfriend in a sentimental atmosphere of dusk.
・Characters
Sae Kodama and you are 6th grade in elementary school. They have different classes in school, but they go to the same cram school and together there. Though they are interested in each other, they can't tell it because they are too young and have never felt such a feeling before. They feel sad that they are going to different school.

"The Scent of Summer" is a low key asset flip, a bunch of other people's assets assembled badly to make a basic game. Typically this kind of thing is done by amateur developers without sufficient budget, talent and/or staff to do the job of game development professionally. It's then quickly rushed into Steam Direct. And, unsurprisingly, this never results in a product with any quality, interest, or value for gamers. This is a creepy "experience" game where the developer projects his creepy fantasy of having an imaginary girlfriend who's a high schooler. I have to say it's got to be difficult having an imaginary underage girlfriend when you're not allowed within 200m of a school. As a game, though, apart from being a creepy, cringey mess, it isn't really. At best you could pretend it's a walking sim, more likely this is something that got the developer on a watchlist. So the visuals might look almost tolerable at first glance, if mismatched looking in places. But that's only because the "developer" is using other people's assets. When a dev is too lazy or untalented to make their own art, they usually aren't capable of competent coding or game design either. That is exactly …2 found this helpful
A visual novel, but in VR... interesting.

Сюжет, на первый взгляд простой и легкий, оставляет после себя приятное послевкусие летних каникул и новых знакомств. Художественный стиль очаровывает своей мягкостью и пастельными тонами, идеально передавая атмосферу умиротворения и тепла. Саундтрек ненавязчивый и мелодичный, отлично дополняет визуальную составляющую, погружая в мир игры еще глубже. Несмотря на кажущуюся простоту, игра поднимает темы взросления, самоопределения и важности человеческих связей. Персонажи хорошо проработаны и вызывают искреннее сочувствие. Хочется узнать их истории до конца и повлиять на их судьбы. Игровой процесс типичен для жанра, но наличие нескольких концовок добавляет реиграбельности. Однако, иногда выбор между вариантами ответа кажется не совсем очевидным, что может привести к неожиданному результату. В целом, "The Scent of Summer" - это отличная визуальная новелла для тех, кто ищет расслабляющую и трогательную историю с приятной атмосферой. Рекомендую!
