We've built on our know-how of making a story rich horror mystery escape game to craft a better and significantly longer adventure sequel. Holly Stonehouse followed the clues from her old family house to finally arrive at the Dark Falls Asylum and again see that someone was there before her, waiting for her. However this time she is no longer a spectator and what follows her is no longer just a shadow - the danger is real as the Asylum comes alive at night. Collecting clues, going through notes and photographs, unlocking devious puzzles and constructing complex chains of adventure actions, help Holly escape the night and find the answers. Was her mother crazy or was there really another sister? Did her mother commit suicide? How could Dahlia "come back" after the fire and who or what is the terrifying thing that Holly saw at Heather's house and that kept following her ever since?

Eh. Alright well... While this isn't bad... This isn't like the first one. It's also rather not well optimized (I forgot to check if the first game was running at 800 - 1.6k FPS) and the Mini-Games in this one are more to drive you annoyed/insane versus for you to have fun/challenge. I would say it's appropriate for the setting, but... I don't know why they derived from the 1st game's formula. It was creepy. Unsettling. You WANTED to know wth is going on and lalalal, the rest. This one however... I have no idea what's going on and some mini-games fried my brain. Creepy? Sure, it started out that way and then I was like... Go away!!! I am trying to annoy myself with this damn puzzle and mayhaps reach the ending!! Then I FINALLY do, all the while my PC is reminding me that I shouldn't play this game for too long or risk frying it at some point, and I don't get it. Any of it. Like I said... It's not bad... And it's a Trilogy... I've played far, far worse games and I did have *some* fun with it. So that does have to count for something. EH.3 found this helpful
Golly, this is a laborious slog that is highly unintuitive...where to go, what to do with what you get, how it all fits together, also accompanied by a reading narrative as long as a novel and cassette tapes to listen to as well. In short, it all grew dull and I really didn't care for any of it, other than to reach the end. Just prior to this game, I played "The Wild Case", of the same genre but so much more enjoyable than this.

A fun creepy but contrived point and click horror game. No real complaints, not a masterpiece but quite enjoyable. 7/10
Wonderful world building. Holly is a great character. Beautiful and haunting.
Not my favorite in the series, but loved the expanded plot from the first game! Definitely improved upon itself, and left you wanting to know more!
