About Tsuro - The Game of The Path - VR Edition

Relax in a serene temple garden, and enjoy a blissful game of simple strategy, based on the award-winning board game.

Create your own journey with Tsuro: The Game of the Path.

Place a tile and slide your stone along the path created, but take care: other players’ paths can lead you in the wrong direction - or off the board entirely!

Paths will cross and connect, and the choices you make affect all the journeys across the board.

I absolutely love this game. Challenging and yet peaceful. Almost like a meditation. Yet it is a strategy game. It makes you think and consider what moves can be played. At first I just played solo. But then as I decided to play against other stones (silly or clever or both), I found that even though it made the game shorter, it too was satisfying and restful. A plus to the game is that it is an easy tool for diagnostics. If another game won't start or seems to have glitch(es), I check if Tsuro will play. It never fails on its own. Only if the problem is steamvr or my vr setup.

Well done game but the UI decisions with placement are super confusing. The cards stay in front of you blocking the board and don't represent the direction of your piece. It would be great if you could just place the piece down, rotate it then confirm.

Really nice board game, and really faithful adaptation in VR.

played on quest 2 very chill game, lovely setting and atmospheric music, fun vs AI or with friends movement controls could be better, would also be nice to switch into a birds eye view overall would recommend if you like your board games 8/10

Works well, the main thing it's missing is two hand control. I'd love to have my cards in one hand so I can avoid looking down so far and be more immersed.

This is more of a neutral review than a negative and honestly I really did want to give this a positive review. What stopped me were a few glaring issues that I discuss below. OK, so, first let me say the overall game mechanics are really fun and really well done. A very nice adaption of the real-life board game The music is nice and relaxing, and I enjoyed the game sounds. Graphics are OK. The style tells me that this is likely either also a Quest game it is going to be shortly. If you like the game in real life, I would probably purchase this. But.... There is no reason whatsoever that teleportation needs to be the only movement option. This is 2024 and the only excuse to make teleportation the only movement option is just laziness. There is no reason the movement should be on the right hand. Every other game, including VR games, put it on the left controller. It is very awkward being on the right. It is also an indication that someone made their game in Unreal Engine and they didn't bother to do much in the way of VR refinement beyond what the engine provided by default. There is no reason the player should not be able to switch hands in-game. I'm a lefty. …
