RPG Maker strikes again! Typical Cliche is one of hundreds of low effort retro-pixel RPG Maker asset/construction kit flips spamming the Steam catalog, made with the RPG Maker video game construction kit... in their own words, "Our easy to use tools are simple enough for a child." Like all RPG Maker "games", this is essentially a bunch of low quality/canned assets from RPG Maker coupled with a cringeworthy high school anime club fan fiction. This is a particularly awful RPG Maker asset flip, nothing but stock assets, and it's one of the ones where the developer couldn't work out how to use RPG Maker to make a JRPG, so it's just a crappy adventure/puzzle "game". As with all RPG Maker games, the poor quality engine displays badly in fullscreen and doesn't have full HD support or any graphics tweaking options, making this unacceptable for any dedicated modern PC gamer. The point can be made that the intention of RPG Maker is to make demos and small games to pass around friends, and shouldn't be used for "professional" game development. С первых минут тебя встречает классический "избранный", забывший свое прошлое герой, которому предстоит победить темного властелина и спасти мир. Боевая система, прокачка, квесты – все ощущается знакомым до боли. Однако, именно в этой предсказуемости и кроется шарм игры. Разработчики не стесняются высмеивать клише, наполняя диалоги остроумными замечаниями, а персонажей – самоиронией. Порой создается впечатление, что игра сознательно ждет, когда ты закатишь глаза от очередного предсказуемого поворота сюжета, чтобы тут же подколоть тебя за это. Графика простенькая, но милая, музыка вполне соответствует жанру, и в целом игра оставляет приятное впечатление "старого доброго" RPG. Если вы устали от нововведений и экспериментов, и хотите просто расслабиться, побегать по миру, наполненному знакомыми тропами, то эта игра - отличный выбор. Поклонникам "серьезных" RPG, возможно, покажется слишком легкомысленной, но для всех остальных – это довольно увлекательное путешествие полное ностальгии.

It's just a bunch of simple puzzles that are made frustrating by poor game design. The story is unintelligible because of the awful translation. The music in the trailer is the title music. It and the game over music are as far as I can tell the only tracks in the game. the majority of the game is played in absolute silence and it does not add to the ambience at all. Overall, this game feels half baked and it's nowhere near as intuitive as the creator seems to think it is. The 'puzzles' are all one of two kinds - Baby's First Skyrim Dungeon Puzzle and the Only Way You're Going To Figure This Out Is Brute Forcing Your Way Through It. No in between. The latter kind can be fun when its actually because the puzzle is difficult but in this case its just incredibly unintuitive and poorly designed. Oh did I mention getting any puzzle wrong is almost always an immediate Game Over? Yeah. Just love reloading over and over and over again for tiny mistakes. Best feeling ever. Probably one of the worst RPG Maker Games I've ever played.

As tempted as I was to give this game a positive review before I started playing the game simply for the title and description, the developer could have actually done more. I played this game because I like satire and thought it might be a funny game.
