greater than the sum of its parts generally. an incredible sense of style whether it's visually or with the music, wonderful world building (everything feels incredibly dense/lived in), and so forth a bit bogged down by gameplay being universally rough. as an overall package this works so well that i'm willing to look past some of my difficulties elsewhere. encountered quite a bit of funkiness in my time with this. had camera lens swaps break a few separate runs across my whole playthrough among other stuff. most (but not all, one of the speedrun achievements seems to be broken unless you mess with the files to sort it out yourself) of my issues seem to have come with playing with a gamepad so maybe it works better with m+kb, who knows. nothing game breaking and it's so quick to get in and out of the levels it didn't really matter, thankfully. really enjoyed levels like The Strand and Karangahake among the rest because of how small but densely packed they were. these were also levels with the least amount of verticality or otherwise room for movement which helped a ton as that didn't feel the best to navigate with most of the time.

Playing this game catapulted my real-life photography hobby into a whole new era. I don't need to break down every little reason for that here, but it will suffice to say that this game appears to really understand what's important about photography - both in the sense of how to do it well, and also in the sense of what it means to us as an art form in the context of our world today. Photography classes at colleges should have students play this game as homework.

It's a pretty fun time. I do wish the Aperture/Shutter Speed/ISO settings weren't DLC only, but honestly the whole package is super worth it if you like photography.

A charming game about taking pictures in a deteriorating world. It's got a lot of bugs, but it's a fun experience nonetheless.

cool tony hawk type environment memorization for finishing up a place in a time limit, but you shouldn't worry about the time limit your first time through an area. Enjoy the hell of occupation
