Uncle Otto's Mansion

After completion, as this is the dev's first game, I recommend it unless you are allergic to 'cringy' dialogues and gen z speech. The game also stutters if you try to move the camera too fast, but that shouldn't be an issue, as this is a linear experience where you are trying to find keys to unlock doors as well as finding notes lifted behind the resident of the mansion that tell a story of what happened there. So not a demanding choir; the only personal issue I run into is forgetting what I was supposed to be doing. I would have helped to remind the task icon. Overall, nothing too extraordinary narrative and gameplay-wise, which I'm glad the dev decided to do to showcase their strength and weakness. Keep the game simple. A couple of positives about the game are that there is voice acting, even if it is millennial coded. The environment is neat, along with the quietness of the night with some wild animal noise in the background. Looking inside the mansion, the room furniture all seems has purpose instead of being jammed in randomly, making it easy to navigate inside, as it is quite larger than what it appears from the outside. Really enjoyed Uncle Otto's Mansion and I loved the art style. Can't wait to see more games :)

Regarding general experience> Appreciate the voice acting. Drive up to the location sets the atmosphere properly. Mechanics and general mvmt./interaction w/ environment were stable. Easy to confuse inventory for list meant to clarify what your next objective was. Esp. problematic if you pick up a key obj. w/out realizing it. Regarding the niddigriddi> The protagonists' purpose in making the trip was somewhat clear, but her leave was abrupt, and her dismissal of the property toward the end was in general conflict w/ the spirit of her interest in checking the place out to begin with. Seemed initially like the protagonist was meant to explore to become the next victim in a horror story, the horrors of which you could then confront and overcome, to make inheritance of the property more of an obstacle than a handover. At the outset it is clear that no such threat was ever present for the protagonist. Seems therefore like a nice prologue to set up a chaptered story. Ending left a few key questions unanswered, for instance, was there a connection between the one who facilitated his interest in plants to the way he met his demise?, and is there special significance to the protagonist b…

I cannot recommend this game. The voice acting isnt that great or believable by the femaile protagonist. When you pickup notes in Otto's mansion you can't re-read them. It would have been nice if you can click on the notes to re-read them as I had read them all the way through and the final part, i picked up a note with a key but accidentally double clicked the controller button so the note disppeared, I had no way to re-read it so I had to go to youtube to read what i missed. The gameplay isnt that exciting. I was expecting something scary or thrilling to happen but nothing happened. Its just a walking sim (3rd person) free game note finding indie game.
