✦ AI summary

Players consistently praise this vertical platformer for its tight, focused design and engaging climbing mechanics that steadily introduce new challenges and abilities to keep gameplay fresh throughout its 3-hour story campaign. The touching narrative about a lone robot climbing towers provides meaningful context, and the variety of additional modes—including local and online multiplayer—offers substantial replay value beyond the main story's 75 levels. However, some players find the game's minimalist, repetitive premise somewhat pretentious or feel that the story itself is fairly basic, thoug

Short, lovely action-puzzle. Finished it in about 3 hrs, but meanwhile it gave me a solid kick. Story is touching, gameplay is engaging and after 3 hrs you have good memories and no regrets.

Upwards, Lonely Robot, developed by Random Layers and published by Kasedo Games, is a tightly focused indie platformer that builds its entire identity around a single, elegant idea: upward movement as both mechanical challenge and narrative metaphor. Rather than presenting a sprawling world or complex systems, the game commits fully to vertical ascent, asking the player to climb ever higher through a hostile, fragmented environment. This design choice gives the experience a strong sense of purpose and cohesion, making every jump, obstacle, and failure feel directly connected to the core theme of perseverance in isolation. You control a small robot navigating a series of towering structures filled with platforms, hazards, and enemies, all arranged to test precision and timing. The controls are intentionally simple and highly responsive, allowing the difficulty to emerge not from complicated mechanics but from level layout and execution. Each section introduces new combinations of threats that demand careful observation and mastery of momentum, turning the act of climbing into a rhythmic challenge. Failure is frequent, but rarely feels unfair, and the quick restarts encourage experi…
Upward, Lonely Robot?
"Upward, Lonely Robot" is a simple game where you play a sphere robot that needs to climb towers. During his climbs, the towers will get harder, taller and filled with various ennemies and traps. Basically, you start with simple towers, jumping to the higher floor and trying to not fall back. Through the levels, enemies and traps start to appear and troubles too. Each enemy has a specific pattern (vertical, horizontal, flying or on the ground, ...) and each of them will make your climbing harder. The story mode will give you some challenges and alternate between different sizes of tower and traps/bonus set. If you don't want to play the premade levels form the story, you can choose between several other modes where you can set the parameters (which helps for the achievements). It lets you make a tower "as you want", which can help to train or to challenge yourself. You also have a mode to duel your friend in local. About the audio, except one or two sound effects (like the spikes), the global audio is nice and motivating. I played this game during several hours and didn't get "bored" of it. About the graphics, they are okay, following the same "u…
