Valkyrie Squad: Siege Breakers

There is no excuse why this game is so slow and unrewarding. I hope there is an update soon which adds the ability to combine your characters skill into an ultimate skill, speed up the default movement speed of both the player and enemy by 1.25 - 1.5x speed. Add more satisfying upgrades. You should never say to yourself in survivors like "I guess I'll take this one" when you're only level 5. The art style is cool though...

TLDR; A basic Survivors-like experience, but one with enough unique mechanics and experimentation to play til; completion. Recommended for enthusiasts of the genre who want a shorter experience. I'm looking at all the reviews and I see a lot of problems I didn't have. 'Too slow,' 'dodge doesn't work,' 'didn't get to the overpowered stage.' I see these criticisms and realize it's a 'skill issue.' I just don't think these people tried playing the game in a different way beyond the same way they play every Survivors-like. If you don't experiment and mess around, you'll never discover anything. As someone who 100%'d the game, I could see the positives. You're given a squad of three and each character has access to a charge attack, unique weapon, and special attack. Paired with their own upgrade tree, you can customize your combinations to fit your style. I also enjoyed the unique take on each squad, giving them a specialization and uniform look. Upgrades are straightforward increases in stats and rerolls, either for the individual character who your entire unit. Character unlocks are tied to rescuing characters by taking and holding pods till they spawn as an NPC. Upon success…

Competent survivors clone with nice art, and not too much of a time sink. Not overly deep, but fun

[h2]7/10 Worth the price. Just a simple game.[/h2] Cheap and enjoyable. It's a simple action roguelite with cute characters. Just enough meat inside to be worth the price of admission.
