About Vanguard Knights
This game is a passion project that started out as programming sandbox in college which eventually grew into the full experience it is today. It was built over the course of many long years and is designed to be a chaotic burst of action with an aesthetic that throws back to a previous generation. Vanguard is a high speed, arcade style, 3D shooter. Prepare to speed through a carefully crafted experience that will push your precision, reaction, and timing abilities in order to weave through obstacles and enemy attacks.
Engage in frantic dogfights, massive bosses, and use a plethora of cutting edge weapons in order to defend what is left of your home world.
The action for the game will fall into two categories. The first is an on-rail mode where the goal is simply to survive to the end while destroying as many enemies as possible. The second is a all-range combat mode where the player is free to move any direction they chose in order to navigate an environment and take down enemies as they see fit. What Steam players say

Vanguard Knights is a strange entry in the back shelves of the colossal Steam catalogue. This is a hybrid of an arcade rail shooter and a bullet hell/shmup game where you control a spaceship in third person perspective as it moves constantly forwards. You can move up, left, down or right as the waves of enemies and asteroids come at you. You also need to try move and hit various "flags" as you slalom forwards endlessly. I think this game would be a pretty big hit in 1987. It's not 1987. One important note is that even though this is an amateur project, it does seem to be sincerely and genuinely made. I couldn't find any flipped assets, plagiarism or any other kind of insincere actions from the developer, but unfortunately genuine intentions alone are not enough to produce a brilliant PC gaming experience. This strikes me as a case of a developer who knows enough to get hired as a professional in the industry, but instead decided to go it alone, which almost always ends in disaster. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. You can change the controls and the game resolution, but the interface i…3 found this helpful
I loved every second of this game. If you like or even love Star Fox games, you definitely should give this game a try. It's only 5 dollars and while the game doesn't take itself super seriously, it really has a lot of charm. There were only a couple clarity issues but once you get the hang of it, it's addicting! If you want something challenging, give this game a go. It's not as easy as Star Fox games, so you'll have to have better reaction times for a lot of things. While the controls are a bit funky at first, you get used to them as you play. Definitely recommend it!
If you ever did animation on Blender you owe this guys 6 bucks... Cmon, buy it
Ikaruga by way of Star Fox. It's cool! Definitely needs another polish pass. I had difficulty telling when I was getting hit, and there are a LOT of spelling and grammar errors. The game has very weird controls, but they're *correct* - as in, they make sense, but they definitely take adjusting. The 3D arenas, I don't love, but the boss fights are all stellar. The Regalia is easily the highlight for me. PLEASE release the soundtrack, it rocks. Very happy with this!
Like Starfox on steroids!
Great game, clearly made by a passionate team. Well worth a quick play through, think star fox ships with some more complex aspects and faster reflex tests.
