Players appreciate this game as an impressive solo passion project with solid foundational gameplay, enjoyable combat, and good variety in character playstyles and weapons that encourage strategic choices. However, the game suffers from repetitive elements, shallow story and character development, and some players feel the experience doesn't quite reach its full potential despite its low price point and creative foundation.
First review of this game :). This game is a one man passion project by a friend of mine. He designed the entire game by himself from the ground up, which is an impressive feat. That, combined with the fact this game is only $2 almost negates it from any criticism. However, I'm still going to genuinely talk about the game to give my experience. Gameplay - The game has good foundational. The combat is enjoyable and can be fast paced depending on the situation. Different enemies throw different attacks at you, and there is some strategy in the mix with what weapons/character you are going in with. Zarus and Greugus, the main characters of the game play differently, and the varying weapons swap up different playstyles. Sometimes it's easier to play one over the other, though you can certainly brute force it as one. Difficulty - I feel like I need to make a statement on this. This game is really difficult. Like VERY difficult. I get that the developer intends for it to be difficult, but the spike in difficulty is pretty intense, and I feel that people who are willing to give this a shot might drop out at this point. If you are someone who likes challenge, you may enjoy this game. So…8 found this helpful

Allright, being probably the first person in the world that has actually completed this game to start to finish i have some things to say. First of all i found this game when a friend recomended Vanquish that is a movement based fps shooter made by the same team that made metal gear rising. so as the funny fella that i am i saw this game on steam and thought it would be funny if i played this game that nobady played before. at the time im writing this there are only 3 reviews and one of those is from a friend of the developers. not a single review has more than 1 hour. so, why did i play this whole game? is it because it is good? Not really but there are somethings that i liked. So before i tell you everything that absolutely sucked imma tell you what i liked: -Funny graphics that kinda remind me of old flash games -actually had to think about my strategy -if you beat the game you get an overpowered character. -bosses are kinda fun -there are some overpowered upgrades that made end game bosses very easy. -there is a boss that varies depending on the character that you use. Now the bad stuff: Developers favorite game is probably dark souls 2 but only the runbacks to the bosses 70…6 found this helpful
Vanquish is an action-packed, fast-paced third-person shooter that keeps you on your toes with intense combat and slick mechanics. The main highlight is the movement system — sliding around on the ground at breakneck speed makes the gameplay feel unique and dynamic. However, the story feels a bit shallow, and the characters lack depth. The repetitive enemies and environments can drag the experience down, but the smooth gameplay and over-the-top action help keep things exciting. Pros: Fast, fluid movement and combat Engaging and satisfying gunplay Exciting action sequences Cons: Shallow story and weak character development Repetitive enemy types and environments Some may find the gameplay a bit too frantic Rating: 8/10
