Vintage VR

Vintage VR is not a game. Games contain meaningful gamelike interaction and game loops, which are absent in this software. Instead of being a game, Vintage VR is a software application that allows users to view stereoscopic images in VR. The stereoscopic images are authentic, but at no point was "looking at old photographs" ever considered a game. For those unfamiliar with what actually makes something a game, a "game loop" describes the interaction and feedback a gamer has when playing a game. Tetris, for example, has a game loop where a random block appears, the gamer interacts with the block to position it, and then the game decides if that finishes a row or not, increases the players score if any rows were completed, then gives the gamer another block to position. Counter-Strike has a game loop where a player seeks another player, tests their skill against that player by shooting them or being shot, the computer rewards the player if they win, and then if the player survives, they repeat that loop. There's no loop here, no true interactive feedback. It simply is not a game, it cannot be "played". This has misleadingly been launched in the "Games" section of Steam inste…

Not a game and not particularly exciting but eh... It's a very interesting and original experience for a while and it's FREE. P.S. It works with my Valve Index if you are wondering which hardware works.

Seen on Index. Zero turning, so, better get used to a weird seating position (or a rotating office chair) and a weird tether angle, if applicable. Teleporting on any stick move; for the potato crowd, I guess. Other than that, well, it's historical pictures from the time of our fathers' fathers. Or our fathers' fathers' fathers. Пиксельная графика выполнена с любовью к деталям, а звуковое сопровождение точно передает дух 80-х и 90-х. Особенно впечатляет разнообразие мини-игр: тут и аркадные шутеры, и головоломки, и гонки – каждый найдет что-то по вкусу. Управление интуитивно понятное, что делает игру доступной даже для новичков в VR. Понравилась интерактивность виртуального аркадного зала – можно подходить к различным автоматам, рассматривать детали и даже играть с другими игроками онлайн. Чувствуется работа художников и дизайнеров. Есть и небольшие недостатки: хотелось бы больше контента и более глубокой кастомизации. Однако, учитывая приятную цену, "Vintage VR" - это отличный способ окунуться в ностальгию и весело провести время. Однозначно рекомендую всем любителям ретро-игр и VR. Это не просто набор мини-игр, это полноценное погружение в эпоху игровых автоматов.
