Picked this up on release and I'm hooked. The atmosphere is doing serious work here, the music and the whole retro-futuristic terminal look nail the vibe, and it feels way more polished than I expected from a small indie. The trace meter is the star. You're always halfway through something when it starts climbing, and that "do I grab one more file or bail" moment gets me every time. Got greedy, paid for it, immediately did it again. Tutorials are well done too. I'm not a command line person at all and I never felt lost the hint button is there when you need it without doing the thinking for you.3 found this helpful
I wish there was a neutral button. It's not a bad game. But the hacking is not very realistic. Not enough to call it a hacking simulator, more like hacking puzzles. It's mission based and linear, not much exploration and discovery involved. Nice cyberpunk aesthetic though. It could be a great game if the hacking was more realistic, and there was just a little more to do.2 found this helpful
A very nice and cozy game experience, that brings a fresh approach to the puzzle field. Furthermore it challenges you to actually get in the shoes of a hacker and use real codes in prompts to figure out the story. The game also looks and feels very good. First impressions are really positive. As someone who loves Mr. Robot and anything centered around hacking, this one hits the spot. It's engaging and at times even stressfull hahahha. Easy to get pulled into the experience right from the start. I'm still early in my playthrough but it seems definitely be worth it. Recommended if you're into hacking, cyberpunk aesthetics, and story-driven games. Hack away fellow white hats, grey hats and black hats hahahhaha
Maybe my brain is too small for this kind of game but I found the hacking stuff to be ridiculously confusing and the tutorial explanation did not help me to understand it. I found myself just frustrated and annoyed after a half hour and turned it off. I won't be booting it back up.
