About VOID81: The Backrooms
VOID81: The Backrooms is an experience that combines survival horror, 3D platforming, and retro 80s atmospheres, offering a unique journey through mysterious, surreal, and ever-changing worlds. In this title, each level represents a different reality to explore, each with its own style, puzzles, and entities. No two settings are alike, and each advancement is a small adventure with ever-changing gameplay. The story of VOID81 is deliberately fragmented and cryptic: players will discover clues along the way, but the truth behind everything that is happening will only be revealed in the final level of the full version. The tone oscillates between mystery, nostalgia and unease, reminiscent of the style of backrooms and light psychological horror, without sacrificing the more dynamic and movement-oriented sections typical of 3D platformers.VOID81: The Backrooms is not meant to be just a horror game or just a platformer: it is a multifaceted journey designed to surprise the player with every new door that opens.During Early Access, new levels, puzzles, and content will be added constantly, expanding the game universe and enriching the story with new clues and mysteries to decipher.
The Keys are used to activate the portal and reach the exit, allowing you to complete the level. In some levels, however, there will be no Keys: you just need to find the portal directly in order to escape.
The Drag & Drop system will be essential in some levels: you can grab, move, and drop objects to progress through the area or even complete the entire level.
Each level features a different monster, so there is no repetition. Each one has unique characteristics and different behaviors.Fortunately, not all levels include monsters: in some areas, you will face other types of difficulties and challenges.

Molto consigliato Review English: A cute game with a good atmosphere, it manages to convey the sense of unease typical of Backrooms well. For an Early Access title, it offers a pleasant experience and has an interesting core idea. There are still some things to improve, such as gameplay variety and a bit of general polish, but the potential is there and it shows. Overall, it's a promising title, recommended for those who love the genre and want to support a growing development. It's …2 found this helpful
VOID81: The Backrooms is a psychological horror adventure developed and published by Veaby that takes inspiration from the well-known Backrooms phenomenon while introducing its own identity through a blend of exploration, puzzles, platforming, and survival elements. Rather than limiting players to endless yellow corridors and repetitive environments, the game presents a series of strange realities connected through mysterious portals. This design choice helps create a greater sense of discovery, giving players new locations to explore and new threats to overcome as they progress deeper into the unknown. The game's strongest feature is its commitment to variety. Every dimension feels designed to offer a different experience, preventing the journey from becoming predictable. Players must search for keys, uncover clues, and activate portals that lead to the next area, all while remaining alert to the dangers hidden within each reality. The constant shift in scenery and atmosphere keeps exploration engaging and reinforces the unsettling feeling that anything could be waiting around the next corner. The sense of uncertainty becomes one of the game's most effective tools for maintaining…1 found this helpful
Even though I’m not a big fan of Backrooms-style games, I have to say that Void81 pleasantly surprised me. For a game that is still in development, the gameplay already feels very smooth and enjoyable. At its current stage, it’s understandable that there isn’t a deep or complex story yet, but the levels themselves really stand out. The parkour sections and puzzles are intriguing, and even when they initially seem simple or predictable, the game often manages to surprise you and make you rethink your expectations. Overall, it shows a lot of potential and it could turn into a very solid experience.1 found this helpful
