I rediscovered VoidExpanse in my library and wondered why I had not played it for so long. After an hour, I remember why I uninstalled it. - You can only play if the connection to their server can be established. For no conceivable reason, you cannot play offline. - Trading is a hassle, as the game does not track which station sells what, and at which price. Better be prepared to make a spreadsheet. - No further development is happening. I totally understand that, as nobody is playing it anymore. Or should I say, nobody is buying it anymore? Flying around is fine, mining is fine, combat is ... doable. I am going back to Star Valor, the currently best comparable game. Unless you like trading with spreadsheets and micromanaging battles with your fleet, then Star Sector is probably your favorite.

[h1] RNG top down space shooter with everything that should be done included: trading, space battles, mining for resources and in general different missions. Simple and intuitive that's what I like about this game. Install new equipment and parts by drag and drop into right slot. Soundtrack is decent. Gameplay is basic but works well. Safe buy if you like space games like me. [/h1]

Its a blast! Played for 3 hours so far. Looking forward to exploring more of the storyline and experimenting with different classes.

Love it. Good visuals and audio. Gameplay is diverse. I love that I can keep multiple ships and store them at a station. I alternate between being a mercenary and a miner and a manufacturer. The combat is frantic and satisfying. I like how I can EMP a group of attackers, then run away leaving a trail of mines for them as a parting gift. One nit to pick: The Manufacture UI is a pain to use. Have to basically chat to the Manufacture droid, and go through a bit of a 3-step dialogue tree to manufacture my goods. I've got a freighter that I load up with mined goods, and would really like a better UI for manufacturing stuff. One where I can see the materials I have, and what I can make with them. Instead of currently having to jump from the chat window to the inventory and having to keep remembering what I have before I can ask the droid to make it.
