VRkanoid - Brick Breaking Game

This is a completely mediocre brick breaker for VR. There's nothing that really stands out by this title. It is a competent brick breaker with 20 levels & some perks that change up the gameplay slightly. You can also change the rackets (the bigger the better) and change the color of the balls. Some of the perks include the ability to use two rackets, give you can extra ball, or auto destroy the last brick in a level. There is also a leaderboard for bragging rights. However, the main problem with this game is the lackluster level designs. Many of the levels are just re-treads of prior levels with more bricks, or having to break all the bricks this time, or having less time to break a certain number of bricks. The ball physics is okay, but not great. You're encouraged to hit the ball at a modest pace so that the returns are easier to hit. It works fine but it also makes the gameplay a bit stale. The UI looks like It's made for mobile. The racket is very terribly positioned, and has no option to fix it's alignment. The corridor is way too big, I am around 183cm (6' for american folk) and i can't reach the balls up high for the life of me. Same problem also occurs at the bottom as the bottom plane is way to low, if I try to hit balls that bounce down there I might as well dig into the ground. I also found it increasingly difficult to hit any of the bricks up top as attempting to hit the ball hard enough will either make the ball bounce all around weirdly due to the bad positioning of the racket, or it will bounce in such a ways that catching it on the return will be almost impossible. The physics of the game seem lacklustre as well as I feel like i have 0 control over the power of my hits as the ball seems to bounce however it feels like. Powerups give no indication as to what they may be, and you can sometimes be left wandering what you even got. Not to mention that the antigravity one will most likely mess you up due to the high ceiling. Essentially hitting powerups is a gamble. Anti-grav will most likely kill you, protective shield will harm you as the ball looses a lot …

This game works well on the Vive. It's a simple idea but it's well implemented and fun. Ball physics are spot on, which is important for a game like this.

Really Basic and fun! Who knew such a simple concept would be so enjoyable, just wish i had more space in my room lol.
