I really enjoyed the game! I've played a lot of visual novels and the writing in this one is stellar. You can tell it was written by someone who really knows how to write. I like the plot and the questions it brings up, and I enjoyed that despite the protagonist being obsessive, her character is still complex and likeable and doesn't just fall into the "yandere stereotype". It was also interesting to control the obsessive character, rather than being the obsession, as it tends to be in vns. I think this game is definitely worth a try! I appreciate the ending variety and the art style is very nice too!

We Belong Dead is a very strange visual novel, and I think that is exactly what made me want to keep going. I am following a mad scientist who is completely determined to bring her dead lover back, even though the person she loves has become a ghost who still haunts the living. The whole thing has a really dark romantic setup, with horror, science fiction and supernatural ideas all mixed together. It is also deliberately toxic and obsessive, so this is definitely not trying to be a normal cute romance story. The game was originally made for the Spooktober 2025 visual novel jam and was later released for free on Steam. The relationship between the two main characters is easily the part I find most interesting. I am not watching a normal love story where everything is meant to be healthy and comfortable. There is a constant feeling that the scientist is willing to go far too far because she cannot accept losing someone she loves. That gives the story a much darker edge, and I like that the game actually commits to the uncomfortable side of its idea instead of trying to make everything pleasant. A really splendid visual novel! I played through it twice in one sitting, as the early choice in the game allows for a completely different path with its own unique dialogue and story. It has a pleasantly stylized UI that I enjoyed using. If you're looking for a story with a touch of unhealthy obsession and body horror - you won't regret playing this!

Reading this as part of the Fall in Love VN Festival 2026. ✔️ Tested on Steam Deck, it works fine (01/09/2026). 'A/R2' button to advance text and touchscreen for menu and choices. Very solid work, especially for what seems to be a game made on a budget for a jam. The interface and color palette are really unique an do a lot for the immersion, the VHS-style visuals were a great idea.
