About Wendigo

Wendigo is a horror game that takes place primarily in a small fictional park named 'Tamarack National Park.'

FEATURES

- Explore a dark wooded region at night with a crank flashlight to see your surroundings.

- Use your radio to pick up strange signals that become louder the closer you get.

- Carefully avoid danger that is for the most part unscripted and autonomous, with no teleporty jumpscare sequences.

- Almost every sound you make in-game can be heard.

- Look to your journal to recall important information you have previously discovered. Learning key information from one location may prove essential for solving a difficult puzzle in another.

Head to Tamarack National Park with your trusty crank flashlight and radio, uncover secrets past and present, and complete your task. Try not to be found by the creature that could cross paths with you at any given moment.

The game takes about 2 hours to complete, but if you are stumped easily it may take a few more. This is my first real attempt at making a game and I hope those who choose to play enjoy it!

it has a strong beginning, but it loses a lot of scares in exchange for boredom and frustration a little later on, like the brainwell being pure trial and error and the cliff area being a lot of waiting.

Nifty little indie game. Fun and cosy graphic style and a well thought out chain of puzzles. Would happily play whatever the dev cooks up next. £3 and 4 hours well spent

This game was such a treat to play because of how it is everything I love about indie games to a T. Made by single person, short and simple, doesn't overstay it's welcome, rewarding game play loops, and very charming visual style. I love games where you have to figure out what's going on and that you have to solve the mystery with what Little clues you have. It makes the reward feel much more earned and gives you a greater sense of accomplishment. My favorite section of the game was during the cliff side section where you found the bell and had to evade the Wendigo by learning its behavior and observing how it responds to you. This created great suspension with the understanding that, if you mess up, you're as good as dead. The artstyle, while simple, is very charming and leans into the horror aspect of it all. I've always been of the mindset that the visual style for indie games will naturally evolve from the classic 8-, 16-, and 32-bit era to the more "modern" 64-bit and PS1 era of graphics at the end of the 90's. I am so happy to see games like this and Lethal Company further push that notion, because it further pushes the genre and allows more games to feel unique and origina…

Great atmosphere, the controls make sense and are responsive. Storyline builds through reading and lore which pushes the player to want to know more as you investigate and keep track of events. Excellent game!
