White Room Protocol

White Room Protocol had a story concept that felt genuinely refreshing. You play as someone undergoing a form of experimental therapy, where a machine helps erase traumatic memories—but only by forcing you to relive them first. Which… yeah. That already tells you how this is going to go. What actually happened in the character’s past is never fully explained, and I’ll be honest—it was a bit confusing at times. There’s a house, a man with an axe, blood everywhere… so it’s pretty clear that someone close to him was killed in a very brutal way. The game leaves a lot up to interpretation, which might work for some players, but for me it felt a little too vague. Overall, I’d say the game was okay—and more importantly, it has a lot of potential. The concept alone could easily support multiple chapters, each following a different person going through the White Room Protocol to erase their own painful memories. Different characters, different locations, different stories every time? That would’ve been fantastic. If this is meant to be a first installment with more to come, then honestly? [i] White Room Protocol [/i] bills itself as this tense, atmospheric or psychological horror title, but unfortunately there just isn't anything tense about it. If you're familiar with horror in any way, you see where it's going before it gets there; sometimes that's a good thing and leads to this slow trainwreck sensation, but there isn't any payoff for that to work here and the end result is this lackluster experience that lands flat. The game does very little to build atmospheric tension, except some flickering lights - which, to the dev, next time please consider making the flicker cycle a little longer because the lights flickering every 5 seconds or so gave me a headache ngl. You're basically just searching the home for hidden objects, while jumpscares happen around you. None of the "puzzles" are particularly challenging, nor is there a sense of danger or urgency while you search. It's just rifling through drawers or cabinets until you find what you're looking for, or having to go mess around with the power for the 3rd time. A short (under one hour), little horror experience for pennies (on sale). Got me good about four times with it's jump scares.

Very short but had a great story premise if they made it so you entered more nightmare environments I would love to see where the story could have gone too I just wanted a longer game like at least 3hrs to maybe 5hrs I enjoyed and would recommend to any one who enjoys a decent horror game.

Amazing game def worth it.

This game terrified me. But it wasn't the memory, or gore or murder. It was the dystopian twist of being forced to relive your nightmare over and over. This felt like playing an episode of Black Mirror. I especially enjoyed the detail of the paintings in this game. Really artistic signalling to the main story and themes. I bought this game when it was on sale, but I would've been happy to have paid full price.
