✦ AI summary

Possess enemies and manipulate them to exact brutal revenge as a murdered girl empowered by the God of Death in alternative 1920s Korea. Balance stealth infiltration with tactical possession and lethal action to hunt down your killers while fulfilling the death wishes of restless spirits.

Set in an alternative 1920s era Korea, Wonhon is a story of a murdered girl who returns to the realm of the living to exact revenge. In return, she must help the spirits of her people find peace by fulfilling their death wishes.

The girl can take life force (Qi) from living creatures, turn into a ghost and possess them to exact her revenge. She dispenses justice with her killers' own hands.

The girl is naked to injury. Her ruthless enemies leave no margin for error, so she bides her time, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.

She sneaks into military bases, possesses unsuspecting enemies, and gets tactical advantages to fight intruders. Help her find the balance between stealth and action and take brutal vengeance.

Wonhon: A Vengeful Spirit manages to acquire a certain desired length in the stealth genre with its decent atmosphere and supernatural mechanics, but it robs the concept with a plot and dialogues that aren't very favorable for a striking debut. If you have a passion for the stealth genre, I highly recommend it as a game to pass the time, but otherwise you won't be tarnishing the memorable dark dosages.

Definitely a fun game. I thought it was a really unique concept for a stealth game. It had enjoyable but challenging missions, good use of audio elements and did a great job at balancing the dark theme with the stealth-strategy gameplay. Great value overall.

Fun little game

I liked the main gameplay mechanic with morphing to other bodies, not only because it's something different but also because the game did it well to not let it be too repetetive from start to end.

Short stealth game. 10 bucks is a bit much, there are other indie stealth games with much more muscle for similar price, but I really liked the concept. Being set in the Japanese ocupation of Korea, playing as a spirit wanting revenge... it's not something you see every day. The level design isn't super intricate, but it's one of those cases where the developers let the mechanics speak for themselves and they do a pretty good job even with some jank here and there. I think at some point they ran out of budget and couldn't make more assets, so they introduced a new breed of resurrecting enemies and from there the game loses a bit of magic. My impression generally is that the developers did what they could with the tools they had. I would love them to revisit this idea in the future with more experience, because they were onto something special, in the meantime if you like what you see, I think this is worth the 3 hours that this lasts. Just get it on sale.

This is a bit of a toss up for me. I'm about half way through the game after about an hour and I don't really feel the urge to continue but the hour I played was enjoyable enough. This is an isometric stealth game where you control a ghost girl who can possess enemy guards to take them out. The theme is one of revenge as you assist ghosts who were killed by an army by completing tasks for them. A lot of the reviews mention clunky controls, I didn't think they were clunky. I feel like the dev must have polishedthem up since I played it. It's certainly a unique title even if it's short and I didn't feel the urge to complete it. The game can be bought for cheap when it's on sale. I'd recommend it on sale just to get a bit of a unique experience to possess guards until you get bored of it.
