Xploquest 2

Compared to the first Xploquest, there are definitely multiple QoL improvements in UI and game mechanics, but the mid game is such a grindy slog with so many repetitive and boring mouse-only actions caused by mismatched player-monster hp/damage and no available options to progress smoothly to the next stage. Terrible balance coupled with the lack of keyboard controls ruined it for me.

4.7 hours of solid content. There's a point in the middle of the game where you're basically forced to grind a bit, but the rest if was balanced quite well for such an RPG. Can't wait for Xploquest 3!

This part is getting better, even interesting. Character progression has been added, and there's a reason to explore cities, go through more challenging levels for equipment, and solve small puzzles in ruins. However, the interface has worsened. Instead of walking, you regularly move the world map, and the alchemy is a complete gimmick that you're forced to deal with. The game is too long for about one and a half hours, the monsters are still too tough, there's no option to disable the selected magic, and there's also no option for auto-targeting of magic, even for aoe spells like fire waves; you always have to click with the mouse. It's not bad, but there's room for improvement in terms of comfortable gameplay.
