If you are interested in games outside the usual Western/Japanese canon, this is a must-play - one of the best Taiwanese RPGs from the 90s, finally available in English. However, there's two big caveats: the English translation is mediocre, and the remaster is based on the mobile port, which significantly lowered the game's difficulty (you gain XP far too quickly, especially during the first 2-3 hours). Personally. I think it's a very special RPG that is still worth a play even under these conditions, but your mileage may vary.

Please translate the rest of the series! I am convinced that if this game came out internationally, it would be considered a classic nowadays, maybe not as huge as Final Fantasy VII but it'd definitely be well known. I wasn't sure what to expect with this game, initially I didn't even plan on getting it but it was part of a bundle so decided to get that. Well I'm very glad I did, this game is one of the most interesting and unique I've played in years. The premise by itself already hooked me, essentially you're a frankish knight from 750AD in search of knowledge to win any war. This leads you from Venice all the way to China in what truly feels like a journey across the world. Along the way you get to see many characters, customs, architecture and religions of the different cultures at the time which I also found super interesting. The entire bestiary has a mix of gods, demons, monsters, mythical beasts, animals, etc from all these regions to give an example. Now of course, this is a fantasy RPG but it's loosely based on historical events and has you witness some of them, as someone from the other side of the world all this was intriguing as I've never heard of thi…

Xuan-Yuan Sword: Mists Beyond the Mountains a ses problèmes.

Developed by DOMO Studio and SOFTSTAR ENTERTAINMENT and published by CubeGame and Gamirror Games, Xuan-Yuan Sword: Mists Beyond the Mountains is a remastered edition of one of the most iconic entries in the long-running Chinese RPG franchise. While many role-playing games rely on entirely fictional worlds, this adventure takes a far more distinctive approach by combining authentic historical events with mythology, religion, and fantasy. The result is a journey that crosses continents, introducing players to a rich tapestry of cultures while preserving the strategic gameplay and narrative depth that made the original release so highly regarded. The story follows Septem, a Frankish knight serving under King Pepin III, who is tasked with searching for the legendary Invincible Arts of War. His mission quickly evolves into a much greater quest that carries him across Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia, and finally into the heart of Tang Dynasty China. Throughout his travels, he encounters historical figures, witnesses pivotal conflicts, and becomes involved in a supernatural struggle that threatens the fate of multiple civilizations. The narrative successfully intertwines real histo…

I really love the game! If you haven't played any chinese RPG this one is just amazing. Aside from the "poor" translation (mostly words outside the text box) you can enjoy one amazing story, especially since it shows more of a world where small countries are being conquered by strong forces and how this can shape the culture and everything of the world.
