About Yahrit!
At some point people realized that a bunch of folks chasing after a ball on flat ground is a little boring, so they came up with a new sport. One that still requires players to wear shoulder pads and helmets, and tackle each other. Welcome to Yahrit!
Yahrit! is a platformer fighting game with local multiplayer for 2-4 players. The rules are simple: you can run, jump and dash. The tricky part is that you don't get to shoot or slash - the only way to hit your opponent is to charge right at them!
Local multiplayer for 2-4 players (SERIOUSLY, NO SINGLE PLAYER MODE) Fast paced gameplay Easy to grasp platformer mechanics Generally a good party game Cleverly combine running, double-jumping and dashing to trick your opponents Beautiful handcrafted pixel art Full controller support (verified to work with XB1/XB360 and PS3/PS4 controllers) Up to 2 players can play using the same keyboard 5 stages (currently) and 3 modes (also currently)
No career/campaign/story/single player mode No frustrating prompts popping up whenever you just want to quit the game

Estimated reading time: 2 minutes I don't usually play these kind of games, therefore I must apologize in advance to the veterans of the genre who might happen to read my review and find a lack of comparison with other similar titles. This was an exception for me (and it turned out to be a really fun to play one) only because Yahrit! was created by the team which developed Cellar - a game that will always remain close to my heart. In terms of gameplay, the two tiles have nothing in common with each other, but one can easily see that they do have the same warm and delicate touch. That description is hardly fitting for a fighting platformer game, isn't it? Well, for one, the pixel art is beautifully crafted and the designers' efforts to make this an aesthetic game is pretty obvious. Little animated details like leaves falling down from the trees, water sparkling, or people cheering for you on a stadium are maybe just for the decor, but they bring a very nice touch to the game. Secondly, there is no violence involved. You have only one attack and that is dashing towards your enemy. He can counter it with h…20 found this helpful
The concept of Yahrit is very simple, players can kill each other with a dash or by falling off the ledges. Everything is based on mindgames, trying to anticipate when the others will attempt their dash so that you can get the drop on them right after it. It’s a perfect game of chicken. There is a visual indicator showing when a dash is reloading, which allows everyone to see the window of vulnerability. It’s very simple, but it works very well as it’s easy to use and based on tension between players rather than technical prowess. The weak point of this game is the levels, there are not many and the platforms are not easy to reach so players prefer to stay on the ground. The developer is planning to take another look at this, so I have lots of hope for the future. Despite this, for its super cheap price the game is clearly solid enough as it is. Its a beautiful pixelart game, but I was expecting it could have at least a mode against the computer, or a survival mode, something like that.
