I wanted to like this game. The mechanics make for some good puzzles, it has good atmosphere and music, lots of levels...but the controls are just so awful. It's on a triangular grid (so 6 possible directions of movement). It should've been a controller game using the stick, but instead you have to use keyboard and mapping the 4 keys to 6 directions does not work. I kept getting mentally thrown out of the game because hitting a key would not make me move like I expected.4 found this helpful
YANKAI'S PEAK., developed and published by Kenny Sun, is a tightly focused puzzle experience that transforms a single geometric idea into a surprisingly deep and demanding system. It strips away narrative, characters, and traditional progression in favor of pure spatial logic, presenting players with a series of increasingly intricate challenges built around movement, orientation, and interaction within a triangular grid. What begins as a simple exercise in navigation gradually evolves into a complex mental puzzle that requires careful planning and a strong grasp of how its systems interlock. The core mechanic revolves around controlling a triangular prism that moves across a board of triangular tiles. Movement is governed not by free directional input but by flipping the prism from one face to another, meaning that every action is constrained by orientation. This limitation is where the game finds its depth. Each move changes not only position but also the direction of future movement, forcing players to think several steps ahead. As additional elements are introduced—such as rotating pivots, color-based objectives, and environmental modifiers—the puzzles become layered systems w…1 found this helpful

Do *YOU* want to be a colorful tetrahedron and play a game that forces you to take painstaking care in how you move around? Do you want to feel physical discomfort the next time you look at a triangular tiling of the plane, as you try to remember how this game handles triangles shoving each other? You should, because it's fun. And if it's not fun, it builds character. This game was <$2 USD in the 2025 winter steam sale, easily worth the money if you like block pushing puzzles at all.
Rubik’s Cube met a mountain and said “let’s roll.” Genius mechanics, oddly soothing, it is basically a love letter to triangles and suffering. Hundreds of times KENNY SUN shouts his name in all caps like he’s claiming another piece of my sanity. The pyramid scheme isn’t just in the gameplay — it’s in the branding recursion too.
It does have a sick intro. In fact, the whole game's presentation slaps so hard for such a hidden gem of a puzzle game, I don't know what motivated this level of dedication to the craft, but I'm sure as hell not complaining. And it's not JUST the presentation either, the difficulty is very polished and gradual, the layout of the bridges is novel in each Part, and it really doesn't let any concept get stale, it is just the right length. And the sound design? God, this game delivers. It's PEAK alright.
