Zombie Derby

actually the new version of this game is way more polished and superior in any way you can imagine. still i got some good fun out of this one. it reminds me of the many janky zombie games i played for free in my browser 15 years ago. and in fact jank & zombies is exactly what you get! you can kind of tell by the trailer and screenshots in case you missed it. if you're not the nostalgic type or you're too young to remember the good old times you'll probably find this game to be rather awful. and actually the fuel system is a real drag. but that's part of the jank, remember? seeing the harvester with the zombie-to-fuel conversion upgrade was awesome fun. why haven't i seen that anywhere else? not even in the updated version of the game? it's a great idea! the game & bonus levels were finished and 100% completed in just under 2 hours and i'm fine with that. a dated game but very cheap during sale and good fun for old people like me on a sunday evening. but the newer game is just better. forward to my review of [i]Zombie Derby: Pixel Survival[/i]: https://steamcommunity.com/id/Meister_Leuchte/recommended/1271690/

Tutorial complete, can't complete the first level no matter what, all available upgrades unlocked. Yet another untested mobile port.

[h2][i]Hill Climb Racing[/i], But With Zombies (Kinda)[/h2] [i]Zombie Derby[/i] is a an action/racing game where your goal is to kill zombies, and make it to the end of a variety of levels, with your limited fuel and other resources. As you play, you earn money, which can be spent on upgrades for your car, and you unlock more cars as you beat more levels. Pretty straightforward. I will say, the game does have a sort of mobile game feel to it, which is fine, because the game still plays really well. One issue I have is how tight the first few levels are to beat. You pretty much need your car maxed out, and there is little leeway or room to make any mistakes. I feel like that should be the case for the last few levels, not the first ones. I believe there should also be achievements in place for completing the game, not just random milestones, it would definitely encourage more people to experience the full game and not just stop after 3 levels. Honestly though, it's not bad, it is well made and doesn't feel like slop. I will recommend it.

Tutorial was playable, at least. Level 1+ felt like pushing a 18-wheeler uphill.

A vastly inferior version of the already quite vapid later game Zombie Derby Pixel Survival. If brain dead time killers is your thing that is one of hundreds if not thousands better options.
