Zombiepede

I played Zombiepede from the beginning during its development and I'm thrilled with how it has evolved. Initially, there was only one level, which was more or less the main game mode, and I've already spent many hours playing only this. With the addition of numerous new levels and constantly new upgrades, it has always been exciting to play and see what new features were implemented. You can try out different strategies. While it often feels like success in a level depends a lot on the random shop offers, with each attempt on new levels, you realize that you make progress. Team coordination is immensely helpful, and maintaining focus is essential in many levels. I must admit that I don't really play it alone, but playing it with a friend is truly a great way to spend an evening. A round sometimes lasts for only 10 minutes, but when we reach the later levels and take our time selecting upgrades, we have even managed to play for an hour and a half in one round. Time flies by, and you end up going to bed later than intended. While I personally know the developer, it doesn't change the fact that I genuinely enjoy playing the game. I've been playing Zombiepede in the alpha version for a while now, and it's quite addictive. The beginning was a bit complicated for me, but after playing the first level following the tutorial, I slowly grasped the concept. It might seem a bit dull at first, but it has more depth than meets the eye. The shop's interface wasn't particularly intuitive, and it takes some time to understand the difference between upgrades and ammunition. However, each player has their own shop and can level up their own weapons. The levels consistently incorporate various small challenges and introduce new types of enemies. Now that it's on Steam, you can also use the Remote Play feature, and only one out of four players needs to own the game. I would definitely give it a try.

First of all: I love Zombiepede. I have to admit that I only played it once with a mouse and keyboard, and it was more a frustrating experience after playing it always with controllers. However, playing it with controllers and friends makes it incredibly addictive. I've also played it a lot during the alpha phase for many hours. And why? It's a relaxing game, but definitely not too easy. Especially in the early game, you have to focus on aiming so you don't waste your expensive ammunition. If things aren't going well, you might have to focus on dodging enemies. You weigh whether to destroy graves to make more space, although it doesn't yield resources to buy ammunition, or to focus on the enemies. Different weapons are recommended for different enemies, so it's even more helpful when you don't go into battle alone. Having a sniper with you has often been very helpful. But you can play multiple weapons alone too. The levels get progressively more difficult, so it's essential to regularly visit the shop to upgrade your weapons (or preferably just one). Lets talk about Zombiepede. On the first start I kinda got thrown back into the early stages of video games. I had to figure stuff out on my own and the menu was spartanic. There are not much animations and it looks like a very old game at first. But I think thats ok. Its an still in beta and early access, cause it is not a finished game. But even for that there is a lot of playtime you can get for this game already and a lot of content other games do not provide. But the importants part is that the groundwork for a successful game is layed out and that is: "Its makes fun to play" I cannot describe why exactly its like that, but you dont need to understand that to enjoy it. You can enjoy it with friends but also enjoy it just on your own, cause the game will provide you with challenges to beat. All in all a solid base to start with to now develop it further in hands with the community to make it a game you can really grind in your hours alone or with some friends.
