Roots of Pacha

I absolutely loved this game. The prehistoric setting made the game feel fun and fresh. The animal breeding was interesting, and I loved getting all the variations of each animal type. The fishing, bug catching, and mining puzzles were different from the other games of this type, and I liked how there was no combat, which is a refreshing change.

Well, any farming game with pixels gets compared with Stardew Valley. This is not a copy cat but does several of its own things: - Like the ideas mechanic which get's you new tech and improves the village - Your children actually become children you talk to and do stuff on their own - The story is also quite nice - Animal collection and breeding are also something on their own So I enjoyed it quite a lot

So much fun!!

A different take on the cozy genre that has a lot of offer, but still seems to be missing something. A lot of the mechanics feel a little half baked and it could use a few minor QoL improvements, but don't let any of that scare you away. There really is a lot here to love and it's all worth experiencing. What's here is more than enough to likely make it a lot of people's favorite game, it's just not likely to ever make it to legendary status. Solid 7.5/10. If you're looking for something different in the genre, I'd definitely put this out there as a must play. If you're looking for more of the same though, you may want to look elsewhere.

If you're looking for a new farming sim, especially a co-op one, you've found your game! The art is lovely, the music is catchy, and there are lots of different gameplay avenues to explore. Farming, of course, but there's also ranching, fishing, mining, trapping, and tons of other stuff. The multiplayer works very well, both in terms of stability and gameplay balance. If you've played through Stardew one too many times and you're looking for something different but still scratching that same itch, give Pacha a chance!

This game, was an unexpected delight. I came into this game blind, just looking for a different farming sim to occupy my time. This game really blew me away. What I think this game does best is taking mechanics that many people may already be familiar with in the farming sim genre, and bringing a refreshing twist. Instead of buying animals, you have to spend time taming them. Instead of sprinklers, there are ollas that you have to refill every few days, and eventually, irrigation systems. It enjoy having systems that feel somewhat familiar, while also being different compared to what I am used to. I also want to say that I found myself constantly surprised at the number of different features in the game. I kept on thinking I was running close to the end of what the game had to offer, only to find that there were still new mechanics for me to learn. The village in the game feels very alive, especially because your farm is part of the village. Also, the villagers feel autonomous, as developments will be made to the village without you necessarily having to be responsible for those developments.
