QUESTS

Forest Ranger always has his hands full. The number and variety of quests will not let anyone get bored. Some tasks you can complete without hurry, in others you will have to do a little jogging. Some will require the use of a car. We do not want to reveal too much. See for yourself.

CRAFTING

What is crafting in Forest Ranger Simulator? It's creating useful things from literally whatever you can find. Sometimes you'll definitely feel like MacGyver.

GATHERING

In order to create something you first have to tear it down. Specifically, we need to acquire materials for building and crafting. To build a table we will need wood. In addition, in the forest we can find many other valuable things like mushrooms.

LEARNING

Forest Ranger Simulator is a game, however, we wanted to include as much valuable information from real life as possible in the game. Thanks to the notebook you will learn a lot about the work of a Forest Ranger, you will also find many interesting facts about forests, such as information about mushrooms. Learn by playing. The name simulator obliges.

WORKSHOP

Workbench. There's nothing like having everything at hand. Saw, pliers, hammer, paintbrush.... and many more tools ready to go. Why not build a bird feeder?

DAY & NIGHT

The profession of Forest Ranger is not a job from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Here you have to be on guard day and night. Remember that the night is dark, and the only light is the glow of the moon and your flashlight. Watching the sunset or the beauty of the moon.... priceless.

CLEANING

Forests, it's not just trees, leaves and animals, it's a ton of trash left by people. You will find more than 150 different trash here. Sometimes you will be surprised what you can find in the forest. Remember that everything has to be sorted. You have special trash garbage cans for this. Some skills as well as large garbage bags will be helpful in cleaning up.

EMERGENCIES

A Forest Ranger has to be alert at all times. You need to observe what's going on in your forest and quickly intervene with a threat. Maybe it's a smoldering fire, or maybe poachers have set up snares again.

Despite the fact that we were not able to raise enough money on Kickstarter, we worked hard so that nevertheless the mechanics and features presented even on the higher tiers could be included in the game. You will find them all already on the Early Access release of the game. They will, of course, be further developed.

Sandbox and Story Modes

It’s up to you to choose how you will contribute to saving the forests. Complete tasks, learn about the next stages of the game and learn many interesting facts about the life of the Forest Ranger and nature itself in quest/story mode. In sandbox mode, you are free like a bird. Do whatever you want. You can create a Statue of Liberty from trash if you are skillful and patient enough!

You’re not a Captain Planet

Don’t Look Up! The problem is closer than you think. The valley you live in is entirely covered with trash. Hunker down, grab a bin liner, and let your area challenge. Look for them, find them, grab them, sort them, and get rid of them once and for all. Pay attention to the constraints of your body - if you collect too much, you may have a hard time carrying it back home. So, firstly plan it wisely, and then, maybe a new set of wheels can help you out.

Learn to Go Green

There are over 150 different trash in the game. Learn how to sort them. Sometimes you can find a real treasure in the rubbish - a really rare and valuable object. What to do with them? One option is to sell it on the market and instead buy new tools, chic furniture for your place, or even, buy your own car to scale up your business! No worries, if you really like something you found, simply keep it and use it to decorate your house. It’s all up to you!

Do or do not, there is no trying!

As a forest ranger, your job will be to take care of the forest. The plague of today's times is garbage. Forests are flooded with rubbish! Firstly you will need to look for them and recognize what type of trash is it. As in real life nowadays you can’t throw them all into one bin. Accurate sorting can be profitable as some of the trash is not really trash as you can sell it online for some bucks. Good forest ranger needs to take care of animals living in the woods. Give some food to hungry birds, build a bird feeder, and remove the traps left by poachers.
Build bee yards in the forest, buy and build birdhouses, and repair hives. Don’t forget to take care of animals and remove animal traps, make sure you prevent fire and do more, so much more.

Real-life simulation

Discover a unique in-game but known in-life trash sorting mechanic, proper day and night differences, where night means is really dark, special immersive lifting and carrying objects. Heaven is under our feet as well as over our heads. Explore the forests, discover and learn about plants, herbs, and mushrooms. Meet and observe animals. Try not to get lost after sunset, appreciate the reflections of the sunrise. Slow down and relax.

Remember that a portion of revenues from the game will be donated to foundations all over the world that are dedicated to plating new forests.

✦ AI summary

Forest Ranger Simulator aims to be a relaxing forestry management experience but is undermined by numerous technical issues including buggy mechanics, clunky controls, poor item pickup detection, and unfinished features that make it feel more like a chore than leisure. Players consistently report glitches with inventory management, missing UI options, unreadable tutorials (especially on Steam Deck), and lack of guidance that force them to seek external help to progress. Most reviewers suggest avoiding this game entirely until substantial development work is completed.

Taking care of a forest should be relaxing. Instead, bugs, clunky controls and repetitive tasks make it feel more like unpaid overtime in the woods.
All achievements can be unlocked on previous version. Will have to do the requirements MULTIPLE times before the game decides to unlock some of them.
download_depot 1185780 1185781 2213451349297693955 This should not be out of early access let alone for sale on steam. Slow down for seemingly no reason. Options are severely limited. Trash/mushroom spawns in or under the terrain. Trash/mushroom pickup is too pixel perfect, and when some items are so very small they're maybe 2 pixels, and depending on camera angle and how far/close you are to it, the trash vision outline will visually disappear. Crosshair needs options like size or color, too hard to see. It's all just a hassle. One of the crafting stations, the one to craft benches/tables, does not show what is needed to make stuff. You have to guess by dragging stuff like logs to the craft area. [THIS IS FIXED BY REVERTING THE GAME TO AN OLDER VERSION] There's e-mails you can get in game with the subject Tips and Tricks, one of them stating that if you're tired of fences making it difficult to traverse areas, stack stuff up beside one so you can get over them. Devs, why didn't you just add a vault over option? Ram max…

This is a true simulator game for those who want to just feel like they work at a park. You go around cleaning trash, fixing birdhouses/bee hives/bridges and generally making the park better. Its a slow paced game so don't buy if you need constant music and flashing lights because your attention span probably couldn't handle this relaxing game.

This game is just... bad. It's so glitchy, unintuitive, and the controls are slow and awful. There's no music and barely any sounds. The items bounce like bouncy balls off of the player, other items, and objects, and sometimes outright disappear, like any logs I try to put on the woodcutting station's platform. I had to look up so many things using search engines/AI, because there's no direction or guidance in the game. The tutorial (it's just a bunch of pages telling you what to do and how to play) is terrible and gives you the wrong game controls--you have to use the ones shown in the controls page in the settings menu. You also can never access it again later, once you quit out of it. I'm also stuck on a quest because I bought the blue and purple garbage bins before I had the quest prompting me to do so, and since I can't buy them again, the game won't progress. The car is also aggravating to drive; it gets stuck on so many things and there are too many trees and rocks to navigate around, that it's honestly easier just running around on foot. Some of the trash/litter is microscopic too, so you have to back up a bit of distance from the area to see the colored outline of the tiny…

If Forest Ranger Simulator actually worked, it might have scraped by as a decent, relaxing simulator. Instead, it’s an unoptimized, glitch-ridden headache. Performance chugs constantly, the user experience is thoroughly unintuitive, and basic gameplay loops collapse under the weight of bugs. When core interactions flat-out refuse to register and progress gets locked by broken quests, the game moves from boring to unplayable. It completely fails to deliver on its premise. Pass.

Boy howdy, such an amazing sell. Such a great story line to buy into. You are a forest ranger wanting to ... you know, safe the forest. You are the ranger responsible for cleaning up the forest park, upgrading it and upkeeping the local flora/faune. BUT The biggest and most prominent focus is splitting the rubbish into a few categories (plastic, metal, containers etc). And then rebuilding your home (the ranger lodge). And here is the thing. Developement is ♥♥♥♥♥! Picking up items... multiplies them in your backpack, then you can's use them. Ordering stuff does not always work yet you don't get the money back... (and no, you cannot track orders). The game glitches more than it works. WORSE GAME ever! And I say that because I so badly want to play it, but it doesn't allow me to. I did the whole graphics driver update, etc. The game is the issue. Not the rig. Thanks for nothing Forest Ranger. Hashtag uninstalling.
