✦ AI summary

The Tenants has a core concept that players find relaxing and enjoyable—managing rental properties and renovating homes offers genuine entertainment value—but the game is hampered by frequent bugs, finicky controls, and limited variety that leads to repetition over time. Most players feel frustrated by the technical issues and lack of developer support, with complaints about unintuitive design and slow progression through the furniture catalog. Players suggest waiting for a sale or price reduction rather than purchasing at full price, as the current state doesn't justify the cost.

Edit: I couldn't actually remember how much I bought this for, I'm pretty sure I got it on sale though because TWENTY DOLLARS is insane. Please do not buy this game for $20. I had a LOT of fun with this game at first and found it really fun/relaxing getting to renovate and decorate homes. But for how buggy and unintuitive it is, it's not really worth the price, and I'm so frustrated that I'm ready to stop playing it. They should make it cheaper or free until they're going to put more work in to fix bugs and improve gameplay. Currently it's very repetitive, buggy, every renovation wants the same floors and walls, it takes forever to unlock more furniture. Did I mention it's buggy? I've had to drop two renovation jobs because one was impossible to complete and the other was bugged out. On another one, their preferred furniture wasn't something that came up in my inventory. Honestly I think you're lucky if you can even get passed the tutorial because I had to google how to complete it. Which, kind of completely defeats the purpose of a tutorial. Also, when purchasing the first property for recruiting two tenants at once, the property the game had me buy only had one bedroom and no ro…

The Tenants lets you live out your landlord dreams without having to actually own property, which is probably the safest way to build your own rental empire. I've put about nine hours into it. I did enjoy the renovation process but unfortunately, the game had a habit of turning me from a landlord to an unpaid IT support professional. bugs and finicky controls were my doom and had derailed me from this gameplay. I think there's a lot of potential here, if the bugs were less intrusive and there more more tenant variety, because the core idea is fun. I just want to spend less time arguing with the wallpaper placements and other designing features.

It's a cautious recommend, because I realise this game is basically, unfortunately, abandoned by the devs. Still, I believe it is incredibly fun and good for long hours of playtime. There are some bugs, but they personally didn't prevent me from playing and restarting the game helps fix them. It happened maybe 3 times over 30 hours? So it's really not that bad.

Eventually it gets repetitive, and I've pretty much exhausted all my creativity with decorating. Its understated style certainly gives the game character, but the gameplay could have been more dynamic and fresh.
