Sherlock Holmes Chapter One

great gamesky

ITS PEAK

My god this game hit me in the heart so many times. Sherlock is his usual quippy little self but I loved watching him banter with Jon and watch Jon pick up Sherlock when he would show any signs of depression or instability. The side quests all add to the lore of Cordona in one way or another and even those had me tearing up or raging for what some of the victims, and Sherlock, went through. I took about a half hour to decide how I wanted to conclude the main story and eventually I went the Sherlock accidentally responsible route and it was the most heartbreaking ending ever. Spoilers about Jon:
I assumed there would be some connection between Jon and John Watson considering their names, but seeing Jon say goodbye to Sherry when he plead with him to not walk into the garden just before Sherry remembers everything, cut to Sherlock meeting John for the first time and even crying a little because of the likeness after everything Sherlock went through after remembering, it BROKE me. Truly well done.
One of Frogwares' best games. Beautiful setting, intriguing story, and some fun twists. I will say though, some of the mechanics and interactions are very wonky, and I *loathe* missable achievements that are tedious to earn.

If you like detective games this is really the best imo

Love love love this! I wish there are more and more games in this installment
