MALEDICTOR

I've played the pre-release betas. Game is made by one dude who is an amazing artist and speedrunner. He has posted Maledictor development updates on youtube and is very transparent. Maledictor is a Retro FPS that is influenced by Blood, a Blood-like if you will, having you blast cultists through various environments like a rural farm, or an urban city block. The Shotgun and Ammo Can IED are absolute powerhouses that wont let you down. The pistol is an anomaly, I find myself favoring it for many instances due to its nearly perfect accuracy especially when hitting enemies across the map. Audio for the most part is fine, I think with some small adjustments mostly to audio levels, would do wonders. Arcade games are strangely addicting, maybe because I want that item locked behind the score requirement. Levels get impressive fast, mostly in terms of scale. Level design is good, I dont find myself getting lost all the time. Areas that are furnished/decorated are well put together. Youll find many great references and gags that help break up the bleak atmosphere the game has, not to mention the Armadillos haha. so far i really enjoy playing the game. the game itself is challenging for me I'm really enjoying the game so far. It's challenging, but not to the point of being annoying. I've been following the project from the very beginning, and I think it's great how the levels have evolved in terms of detail and difficulty. :) I hope you enjoy the journey through the game just as much as I am right now. :D

A boomer shooter's boomer shooter. Decent music, crusty graphics, and tough but fair gameplay for the most part. Dev is pretty quick to fix bugs. I liked the radio shows and the arcade games, aside from the cannon game. Screw that game. A few ideas/suggestions: Better signposting- I got stuck in the big mansion level because I kept overlooking a tucked away room that had the key I needed in it. In the mall level, it's kind of hard to tell what areas opened up after using the keys. For example, the first key you use opens a window, but it's dang near hard to tell until you just happen to start throwing yourself at everything because it's been 10 minutes of running everywhere and backtracking. Weapons- The pistol is kind of OP. You can kill the standard melee and pistol enemies with two hits, and the thing is center accurate every time. There's a lot of enemies you can straight snipe with the pistol before they can ever see you. The SMGs work, but I don't really feel like there was ever a time where it didn't feel like it was my last choice weapon. It's not very powerful and it seems like it takes almost all of your bullets to kill one guy. I don't know if others ar…

Really fun, fast-paced experience with a few QoL issues. Maledictor is a fast-paced and challenging game that I really enjoyed. The difficulty felt tough but fair, and I never felt like the game was punishing me unfairly. The shotgun in particular feels fantastic, it has a really satisfying punch to it and makes combat feel great. I also really enjoyed the variety of minigames. They add some nice variety and keep the gameplay from feeling repetitive. That said, there are a few things I think would make the experience better: Subtitles: These would be a great accessibility addition, especially when dialogue or important information can be easy to miss. Boss health meter: It would be helpful to know how much health a boss has left, especially during longer fights. Clearer death/restart instructions: This was probably my biggest issue. After dying, you can spend almost a full minute lying on the floor before realizing that you need to press a specific button to restart. A simple on-screen prompt like "Press RT to restart" would make this much clearer. Overall, I had a great time with Maledictor. This isn't my type of game, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Loving the little random details like chopping into pieces bodies. Overall beautiful and nice aesthetic. 100% recommend if you're fan of Doom games ~
