About Carnival Hunt

✦ AI summary

Carnival Hunt is an asymmetric multiplayer horror game where one player hunts as a relentless Carnival Monster while others survive as wind-up Bunnies trying to escape an ever-shifting mechanical carnival by ascending its floors. Team coordination, resource management, and proximity voice chat create intense moments of cooperation and betrayal as you navigate a procedurally generated nightmare where every sound and movement could be your last.

You awaken on the first floor of an elaborate carnival designed by the Puppetmaster. What’s left of you is now fused with intricate clockwork machinery. After regaining your senses, you realize one thing: you must ascend. The higher floors are your only escape from this ever-shifting mechanical nightmare. The carnival is dark, yet hauntingly beautiful and melancholic. Don’t worry, soon it will feel like home.On the other side of the carnival, another awakens with the urge to perform better and kill.

A TWISTED CARNIVAL OF SURVIVAL

Carnival Hunt is an asymmetric horror strategy multiplayer experience set inside an ever-shifting mechanical carnival. One player becomes the Carnival Monster. The others become puppet Bunnies.Nothing here is stable. Nothing here is safe. The carnival is always performing, even when no one is watching. And everything makes a sound.

SURVIVE AS THE BUNNIES

Work together as a team of Bunnies to survive the Monster’s hunt and escape the Carnival by ascending to the highest floor. Manage limited wind-up energy, share resources, and coordinate movement before the system runs dry.Use proximity voice chat to coordinate, deceive, or panic while working together as a team.Every mistake echoes. Every sound can be your last.

WIND-UP SYSTEM

Your survival depends on a fragile wind-up charge system.
  • Move too much, and you drain faster
  • Stop cooperating, and you collapse
  • Run out of charge, and you are lost to the carnival
Bunnies must wind each other up to survive.Trust is a resource.

PLAY DEAD SYSTEM

There are procedurally generated groups of fallen Bunnies scattered across the map. Play dead among them to hide from the Monster. But stay still too long… and the performance may end.

EXTRACTION & ESCAPE

Scavenge valuable resources across the carnival’s shifting floors and escape before the Monster catches you.Every match is a gamble between greed and survival.

PROGRESSION: PUPPET UPGRADES

Unlock and upgrade the gears within your inner mechanisms to become:More agile
More resilient
More unpredictable
More mischievous

BECOME THE CARNIVAL MONSTER

Step into the role of the Carnival Monster, a relentless force of chaos and control. Each Monster has unique abilities designed to track, disrupt, and eliminate the Bunnies.Adapt your playstyle. Predict their movement. Break their coordination. You are not just hunting them.
You are performing for the carnival.

THE CARNIVAL IS THE STAGE

The world is not just a map. It is a performance. The Monster performs.
The Bunnies perform.
Even death performs. And lastly, dress to impress or intimidate; it is equally important.

Summary: A very beautiful 1 vs 5 game with an interesting setting that isn't all that fun to play due to core game design issues. It is more fun to discuss game in discord than it is to actually play. I really wanted to like this game, but the design is heading in the wrong direction. The game is a 1 vs 5 as of now, with the solo player supposed to be the "seeker" and the 5 being the "hiders". The game falls into the classic trap of making the game fun for the 5 players at the expense of the 1 player. The direction of the updates are also only going to make the game worse, not better. What's wrong with the game: - The 5 player team each get 4 lives, and can find items to regain lives. Meaning the hunter needs to kill bunnies at least 20 times to "win" before the time limit of 30 minutes. This almost never happens beyond beginner-level games. - The hunters do not have enough time to set up their defenses for each "floor" of the map, meaning the ideal way to play is just to abandon the early floors, cutting out 50% of the map. - There are "ability gears" that the bunny team (5 player team) can unlock that give them higher and faster jumping, meaning they can infinitely loop the hun…

This game is so horrendously balanced I don't even know where to begin. Hunters get a single pity chest for an entire troll game where bunnies wait at the gate to get clips. Bunnies get absolutely nothing if they lose. I hate this game. I've spent the last 6 hours without a single win as either hunter or bunny. I was in the middle of showing my friends the game because they were GENUINELY INTERESTED but that got SHUT DOWN BY BULLY BUNNIES.

Matchmaking is scuffed up. It's a shame, bacause it would be good if the bad matchmaker was better

This game was extremely fun in Alpha before it came to steam, now it’s a tedious mess that’s somehow more unbalanced than it was in Alpha?
