Chef Knight

Took me 4h to become a master chef. I wish this game had a proper end boss and 1-2 more biomes though. :(

This was a short (about 3 hour completion) game but was a ton of fun! I did run into some issues near the end of the skill tree where I found it hard on controller to navigate. That is my only negative about the game though. I though this was a cute, fun and addictive game play loop.

The visuals are colorful and cartoony, but there's just not much to the game. Danger is minimal to the point that I never once died during my playtime. There are four zones, after which the game just...ends. There are no boss fights. Instead, each area ends with a DPS time check against a treasure chest. IncreKnight is very similar, but does the concept way better.

A welcome change of pace for an incremental, mixing in a dungeon crawler. Nice art style, and the progression flows well. Aiming attacks felt wonky until I found the keyboard direction setting in the options, which is worth switching to if the mouse control bothers you. It also gets hard to see your character in the later part of dungeons, but you can switch off damage numbers in the settings to help a bit. Under 4 hours to 100%, so it is quite short, but definitely worth it.

What I liked about this game: - very nice progression of the skill tree (you start small and once you begin to feel powerfull you reach a new level/biome and you need to search in the skill tree for the next improvement to get you back to the point where you where powerfull) - a wide variety of options in the skill tree (when i was having difficulty of reaching the next level I had a wide option of solutions in the skill tree: increase the timer, make the door open faster, do more damage) - levels don't get boring (after the first biome you get introduced to biome gimmicks which "spice" things up) Only minus i could say it that at the end, the number of elements that were happening on the screen was so much I was having difficulty finding my character. I had to change to mouse control to make sure that my character was around my mouse. TLDR: a very good incremental game with very good progression tree and nice visuals
