Exploration is not linear. Choose the next room and work through battles, treasure chests, traps, character events, and other encounters. Combat is turn-based, with skills consuming AP. After each victory, one skill can be learned or upgraded from a selection, so what you develop during a run directly affects how you fight. Hunger also imposes combat penalties, while reaching the Chaos limit causes an immediate game over. I can't think of very many h-games with an actually good plot alongside some good "plot", and it's rarer that I actually feel the desire to 100% an h-game like I did with this one. The gameplay itself is alright, but it does mesh well with the themes of the story, and I did have fun initially figuring out a powerful build to quickly clear enemies. However, by the time I started my 3rd clear of the game to achieve full completion I was just going through the motions, but honestly, it's not like I expect incredible gameplay from h-games as it's rarer to have that than a good story. There are a few reviews that mention NTR, and there are a few NTRish scenes, but most of them are more mind break than NTR. However, those tags are closely related I'd argue, so that's just a semantics argument I suppose. Besides they are completely avoidable so long as you choose the right choices in the few times where that matters and the rest of the instances are just win the fight. You don't need to see them to get the true ending.

If the developer reads their reviews: We need a way to use consumables immediately when we open chests. Having to discard an item to use a potion or food isn't intuitive, particularly when you add items like the Wolf Brooch which is a stat increase only as long as it's held. Also, at least one of the three technique options should always be something you already own, as leveling techniques in the late-game becomes near-impossible for Flurry or Dice. Enjoying the game otherwise, in gameplay, events and story. Note for anyone who downloads an online patch: Deleting the game on Steam will also download the patch, which also locks out the CG menu if you redownload. I'd recommend keeping the file on your hard drive in a separate folder if you plan on redownloading.

This one hits the spot if you're looking for a decent fantasy game that may lean a little more nukige while still giving you enough story and mechanics to stay invested. The character designs are really nice, love the artwork though it can be stiff during event scenes. The game is a bit rogue-like-ish but once you get a couple of clear bonuses and learn the best moves on Normal difficulty you can get a game clear with no trouble, and going for 100% doesn't take too much effort. Hard mode can be genuinely hard though. The story and writing isn't that crazy in terms of scope but it's a genuinely interesting idea to see the main concept revealed, and there's some good sense of humor here while maintaining the dark fantasy tone. All in all though just check out that great character art and if you're into the setting and concept, it's good to try. The voice work and music is solid too.

It's a VN with some gameplay elements, but it's fairly easy to cheese even in the hard mode. It got me hooked more with the lore, than the 'scenes' which is also pretty nice. The erotic scenes have a decent variety, though beware, since it's dark fantasy it's not purely vanilla. Thankfully it doesn't take a fetishistic NTR like approach about them. I love my sword
