A World Shrouded in Darkness
Long ago, the Great Beast arose from the sea and covered the earth in poison fog. Choking out the land of both life and light, a new era of wonderous misery began.
Centuries have passed. The once hallowed halls and bustling streets are mere shadows. Those deemed undesirable are thrown into the Great Well, a pit of chaos and disease. Cast into its depths for crimes unknown, you awaken in this moonlit subterranean world. Your only hope lies with the sleeping Old One deep below. Long abandoned by AA/AAA developers, the mantle of “King’s-Like” is left to the humble indie. Which is great, because that's where all the cool weird stuff comes from anyways.
The world of Lunacid is bursting at the seams with new things to discover, from hidden magics to secret areas. This isn’t just the odd room with a chest in it; entire new areas await those with a watchful eye. Esoteric puzzles and cryptic hints galore are sure to confound and delight even the experienced dungeon delver.

If you've come this far, you already know you're going to buy this. But that being said... one of the slickest games of this genre, with that important nostalgia factor. Every time you start thinking "oh, that's new"... something even newer comes along. This game has a surprisingly large amount of stuff in it, especially if you're the sort that likes secret hunting. The vibe is great. First the game has you asking "what happened here?" Then it beomes "wait, am I high?" top notch retro-style dungeon crawler.
While the level design can be frustrating to navigate, and some secrets are incredibly obtuse and near-impossible to figure out without a guide, this is still a real gem of a game, with none like it. The exploration is extremely rewarding, the spell system is incredibly varied and imaginative, and the world building is incredibly immersive. It's also quite scary, and one of the very few games I've played which really scared/unnerved me at multiple occasions (looking at you, Subnautica). While it has its flaws and requires quite a bit of patience from the player, it's an experience unlike any other I've ever played. 9/10. Don't use a guide until you've finished the game, then use one for getting the other endings.
Premise of Lunacid as well as an artistic style are pretty good, but the overall gameplay ([i]in regard of combat and AI, with its "sliding enemies"[/i]) could use some improvements... Given there is plenty of long, rather empty corridors which we have to walk through multiple times over and over again, this makes experiencing with this title rather tedious, especially without investing a lot of points into movement speed. Sadly, it's unlikely this game will get any real improvements, as even the developer himself claims to be rather "unstable" person and acts out of a whim: https://steamcommunity.com/games/1745510/announcements/detail/3773513676617442260 I kinda feel sorry for early supporters, who with v.1.0 launch got slapped with a sudden propaganda inclusion. Personally, I don't think it really affected the game that much in the end ([i]as seemingly: it was his last-minute addition, so lore/dialogues don't look to be really affected[/i]), but it's something worth to keep in mind with future productions from this developer. I will try to finish this game, but I don't think I will play it over again, as there is simply no replayability value. While technically there are featur…
it's just bad
If you are craving a game that scratches the itch of kingsfield and you like exploration and puzzles this game is incredible. Combat is kinda simple and a bit easy by default but there is a difficulty slider if you are into that. Overall 8.5/10 game and definitely my favorite that I played this year.
