About Lucius II

✦ AI summary

Play as the demonic son of Satan unleashing supernatural chaos across a sprawling hospital and town in this twisted sandbox where you craft elaborate traps and decide the fates of over 100 victims. Lucius II lets you embrace the role of the villain with dark humor, movie references, and a deep combination system that rewards creative kills in fully explorable environments.

The story of Lucius II continues where the original left off: Lucius emerges as the lone survivor of the burning wreckage his parents once called home, unscathed from the ruthless slaughter he had unleashed.
He had taken the weak and punished the wicked. He had looked through their souls and found the true selves they had been hiding.

Lucius is taken to the psychiatric ward of St. Benedict’s Hospital by unsuspecting caretakers. The Book of Revelation predicts the birth of a child that would end up ruling the world with an iron rod. The first part of this prophecy has been fulfilled. It is time to take care of the rest. Whispers of a prophecy find their way to the boy's ears. Lucius decides to act again to regain his powers. But little does he know of his new adversaries...

Game features:
  • Lucius II has a unique twist where you play the bad guy and wreak havoc as the son of the devil.
  • 3D Splatter adventure sandbox that continues the story of the original game.
  • Over 100 potential victims.
  • Lucius can now explore a vast five storey hospital and the small town of Ludlow.
  • Homage to the classic horror movies. You can find references to different titles all over the game.
  • Create your truly own unique traps by using a complex combination system and various tools.
  • Each level is its own sandbox where you can decide when, how and who to kill.
  • Create your own unique Lucius by choosing your favorite supernatural abilities.

✦ AI summary

Lucius II receives mixed-to-negative feedback from players, with the main complaints centering on repetitive gameplay, poor AI that frequently glitches, and tedious level design that feels like a step down from the first game. While some players appreciate the dark atmosphere and puzzle-solving elements, most find the experience marred by bugs, limited murder methods, and a lack of meaningful consequences for player actions.

*MY ADVICE* Play LUCIUS 1 instead of 2. 1) TUTORIAL They forced a horrendously long cinematic intro just to show a 360° view of Lucius… non-skippable... WHY make me sit through a 30s meaningless scene? The tutorial itself is confusing. And I accidentally skipped part of it. WHY make it so easy to skip? (Don’t press X on an Xbox controller or you’ll skip the tutorial.) 2) GAMEPLAY So repetitive. You kill a bunch of NPCs, get the keys to unlock rooms, kill more NPCs, then move to the next floor, repeat. The ways to murder NPCs are very limited, which makes the game extremely boring. At least LUCIUS 1 had a better script, plot, and background stories for the victims. 3) AI The game has the worst AI I’ve ever seen. NPCs are often glitched, they ignore wallets right in front of them and sometimes run in the opposite direction when they’re supposed to chase you. Poorly written AI and lots of bugs. 4) CONTROLS The controls are terrible. Don’t bother using a controller, the aiming is painful, and I couldn’t find a way to combine items with a controller (tho that might just be me). Even LUCIUS 1 has better controls than this. 5) HUD The HUD is non-scalable. The text is ridiculously sma…

Man I just can't bring myself to start this up again. Big fan of the first Lucius. It was like a fun little horror homage to the Hitman series. Kind of linear but at least it all kind of worked and had a fun spirit. This sequel is just one big broken sandbox of tedium. Buggy rinse and repeat level after buggy rinse and repeat level. The only challenge in the game is getting Lucius to perform the actions you're trying to take. So far I've killed like 40 people in this hospital. No one cares. Bodies everywhere on every floor and NPCs are still saying "hey little boy where's your mommy" as they step over the charred remains of corpses. You can get a little creative maybe once or twice each floor but the payoff is never worth it so it's essentially just a pyromaniac simulator. Really unfun and unfinished feeling mess and seeing L3 is more of the same I think it's time to repent this series.

**10/10 – A great game for horror and puzzle fans** Overall, I really enjoyed the Lucius series. Lucius is the son of Satan, and in the first game, you are in a house where your objective is to eliminate different people. However, it is not as simple as it sounds, because you have to find the right methods and solve different puzzles to carry out your plans. In **Lucius 2**, the idea is taken further, with a new story, more locations, and more situations where you have to think before you act. I liked that the game is not only focused on horror, but also combines a dark atmosphere with puzzles and gameplay where you have to pay attention to your surroundings. If you enjoyed the first Lucius, then Lucius 2 is definitely worth trying. It is not a perfect game, but it has its own style and an atmosphere that makes it different from many other horror games. For me, it is a **10/10**, and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys horror games with puzzles and a more unusual story.
