The Hollow Road: Prologue

The Hollow Road: Prologue shows a lot of potential and gives a good glimpse of what could become a much larger and more terrifying experience. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and visual presentation, and there’s a solid foundation here for the next game. That said, I do have a few criticisms that I hope the developer can address moving forward. The flashlight didn’t always work properly in certain areas. I understand that some sequences intentionally prevent you from using it, but there were moments where it felt more like a technical issue than an intentional gameplay decision. The lighting could also use some improvement. Adding a brightness or gamma setting would make the game more accessible, especially for players who may have difficulty seeing in darker areas. The game also needs more optimization, particularly for low to mid-tier systems. Improving performance and stability would help make the experience smoother and more accessible to a wider range of players. Another thing that threw me off was the length of the credits. They felt unusually long for a prologue and disrupted the pacing a little. Despite these issues, I still think The Hollow Road: Prologue has a lot go…

This is a must play for fans of the horror genre! Love the graphics and the audio! Nice jump scares creepy ambiance too. And the story is super interesting and unique. Ive played hundreds of horror games and i really appreciated how i didnt recognize any of the environments or objects, it felt fresh and new. It also ran very smooth and felt well optimized! Definitely check this game out!

The menu music had me hooked before I even clicked "New Game" The Hollow Road: Prologue is exactly what I want from a psychological horror game. It starts with a mysterious drive and a conversation about a church that worships darkness instead of light. A huge cathedral, a lonely graveyard, and the blue and red lighting immediately create an incredible atmosphere. Most of the prologue takes place in a small house near the church. As you explore, strange voices speak to you, pieces of the story slowly come together, and unsettling things keep happening around you. This is mainly a walking simulator, but that's exactly what makes it work. It focuses on atmosphere, storytelling, and making you feel uncomfortable instead of throwing constant action at you. And can we talk about the music for a second? It's fantastic. The menu theme alone was so good that I almost forgot to start the game <3 Also... don't skip the credits! Seriously. There's still more to see afterwards, and it's absolutely worth staying until the end. The beginning was a little strange, and I didn’t know what this place was or what was happening. But after that, I woke up in an apartment, and the atmosphere became very tense and mysterious. I wish the game didn’t end there, because the final area was really scary and felt like there was more story to explore. I’m not sure if this is the complete version or if there will be future content, but thank you for this great experience.
