WWE 2K16 is praised by players for its engaging Showcase mode that lets fans relive classic wrestling moments, solid gameplay mechanics with strategic reversal systems, and a rich roster of wrestlers and match types that appeal to longtime fans. The main drawback is that the game is no longer available for purchase on Steam due to licensing issues, and while some find the Career and Universe modes adequate, they're considered less compelling than Showcase.

The fact that you can't get this or any other older WWE game on Steam is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ atrocious on whoever's part. What's also atrocious is the fact that Just Bring It, Shut Your Mouth, and Here Comes the Pain have never been ported to PC. Let's look into that guys,

I was a huge wrestling fan back then. Whether the party was in RAW or Smackdown, they were both great. I also remember Day of Reckoning 1 and 2 on GameCube and Smackdown vs. Raw on the PlayStation 2. You could really do a lot back then. The controls here are much simpler. What I absolutely love is the Showcase mode where you can replay and relive old matches. The selection of wrestlers is also quite large. I checked out the story mode, but I think it's all about collecting all the belts. From a small egg to a big one. In short, 2K16 is the first wrestling game in a long time that I've ever really enjoyed. I like everything so far, and it all runs perfectly on my Steam Deck. It's a shame you can't buy it on the Steam Store anymore. Probably because of licensing issues. And the servers are unfortunately offline. At least you can experience everything offline. Playing a few marches up and down is still a lot of fun.

This game is a surprising wrestling treat for me. Graphics, for the time period that it was released in, is fantastic. Gameplay is very addictive. Chain wrestling is a fun way to start the matches. Reversal window is fairly long in most cases but the limited reversal slots bring a fantastic way to strategise during the match. Content wise, it’s also very rich. It has a wide variety of match types, which satisfies the wrestling fan in me. And then we have to talk about the game modes. It has specifically three game modes - SHOWCASE, Universe and Career. Let’s start with Career mode. Basically it’s very generic and ok at best. Universe mode is fairly ok and provides good enough content. However, the MVP of this game is the Showcase mode. It showcases the entire career of one of wrestling’s most influential figures, the Texas Rattlesnake himself, Stone Cold Steve Austin. The matches are well curated, cutscenes are created in engine and the gameplay is just pristine. It is arguably the best Showcase 2K has released till date. (If we ignore the 30 years of wrestlemania mode in WWE 2K14). Overall, this is a must have title for any simulation style wrestling video game fan.
