A short but really well-made arcade fast-food game. See the horror elements as an excuse for the atmosphere rather than as part of a traditional horror game. The jumpscares are scarce, uninspired, and predictable. The same goes for the plot, which is almost nonexistent. This is not a problem, though, since the interest of the game lies within its gameplay loop. You cook and prepare the ingredients before mixing them to fulfill the orders of your customers. On top of that, the physics are what make the loop really satisfying by allowing the player to optimize their workflow. Finally, the most interesting part of the game is not its story but its endless mode. This is not a scary game, but a funny little arcade game wrapped in a soothing yet eerie ambiance.

Kiosk is a short but well-crafted horror cooking game that got under my skin more than I expected. Preparing orders is the heart of the game and it's genuinely enjoyable. There's a nice variety to what customers ask for, and new items get added to the menu each day, which keeps the pace up from start to finish. Physical interactions feel smooth, though throwing can be finicky since the force sometimes sends items somewhere other than where I intended. The customers are where the game shines. Recurring characters like the comedian and the clown return across different nights and pick up their conversations where they left off. The dialogue strikes a good mix of funny and unsettling, and some conversations kept me on my toes, never quite sure what was coming or when. I'm not a big horror fan since I scare easily, and Kiosk got me more than once. The rainy, moody nights build tension nicely, and the jump scares are used sparingly. That restraint works in the game's favor, because when they do come, you can't really see them coming. The retro low-poly style fits the atmosphere well. The kiosk itself is small but well designed, and it's a pleasant space to spend time in. …

Very fun. I would love to see a bigger version of this game where the money is actually relevant and there is more to do. The horror element seems boring and it would be cooler just to see a shop management game.
