The Merchant's Eden

I like the aesthetics and music, but the game is very bare-bones. Worse, it doesn't seem to have a clear roadmap, so I'm concerned it won't ever have more systems.

This is a small, relaxing tower-defense kind of game. It's very chill and calm. Some people are complaining about it being too easy, but I liked being able to relax while playing it and wouldn't find it relaxing if it was super difficult. I didn't run into any bugs or crashes, and overall it ran smoothly and well. If you're looking for a super chill game to play every now and then, I recommend this one.

Super chill. Had lots of fun playing it. I had fun making little settlements and getting all the achievements. I was drawn in by the low-fi minimalist look of the game. That said the game is very easy, and doesn't have much depth to it. So if you are looking for challenge and/or depth this isn't for you, but if you like to turtle in your base, and play something more chill, it might be worth your time. Merchant's Eden is a tower defence game dressed up as a city builder, and not a particularly difficult one at that (only 2 towers). Which is fine. I had plenty of fun making and decorating my little cities, well beyond the point where my city is effectively immune to invaders. There is no end (that i know of) so you just have to abandon your city and start over when ever you reach 99,999 gold (max), or run out of land to build on. It'd be nice to have a way to end the scenario. Perhaps they could allow an economic or military victory. Every time i hit 99,999 gold, i wished i could just bribe/buy my way to peace with the invaders. I also often had a surplus of soldiers and wished I could send out small groups of soldiers to fight the enemy off map to weaken/defeat them.

Although the game is a little bare bones since its still new, it's still a pretty enjoyable as the gameplay loop is solid.

I had a blast! It is very fun expanding your Merchant Eden while defending from bandits. This game will be in my favorites. Highly recommended (if it looks like a game for you).
