Egyptian Senet

Not bad, but little outdated. When a update?

Ancient Egyptian history is basically a saga where god-obsessed pharaohs built giant tomb flexes (hi pyramids), worshipped a chaotic squad of deities like Ra and Osiris, and spent thousands of years trying to outsmart death only to get looted anyway.

Beautiful digitalization of an ancient board game. I can't quite understand the people complaining about the graphics, because it's from 2015 and it's aboard game, you can easily distinguish every element (except maybe the "back" arrow on some screens) and overall there's not much to do wrong. A simple pet peeve of mine is the mixing up of Horus and Ra on square 30 and unfortunately I haven't found a picture of the specific board with the specific paintings used here, so I can't say which is correct. Anyways the deity depicted here is Ra, the sun god, in his falcon form, not Horus, and somehow I'd expect a winner of several egyptian gaming awards to get that right. I'd also hoped for a little more background and description of the different egyptian imagery used, but all that doesn't have any influence on the game in and of itself, so ignore my nerd butt. Edit: Caveat emptor: Computer seems to severely cheat on difficulties higher than Novice.

How could an Egyptophile like me possibly turn down the chance to play the game of the pharaohs??? :) This game is almost 5,000 years old (keep in mind we don't know the rules of the game as it was originally played, so modern rules have been created.) But still, it's a little thrill for me to play it. I wish i could play it with someone in person but this isn't exactly a common game.. I've been looking at buying the physical game but costs run from c $40-200 ... not cheap. The app has rather low quality graphics and it lacks much challenge (I've won every game but one) but I still will play it just because it puts my mind back to that time in history and it's the least expensive way I can play the game... It's SUPER CHEAP right now on Steam, buy it! :)

AI has 3 levels of difficulty, 1 player and local 2 players. Game kept running even after closed the game window, cannot stopped unless you force quit Steam. - no updates since 2015 - no trading cards - no achievements - no point shop items There is another Senet game on Steam, 2025 Senet: Households, free to play, has multiplayer, can customize rules, better intro, etc. I'm still happy that I bought this game, probably because of its simplicity, easy to play whenever I want to. p.s. beat the most difficult level within 2 hrs >_<
