About Serious Sam: Shatterverse

Serious Sam Stone is back, but this time he's not alone. Uber Mental's maniacal machinations have fractured the walls between universes, and now Sam's from multiple dimensions must learn to work together to repair the Shatterverse.

As part of the Serious Program, a multidimensional force opposing Uber Mental, you'll travel across shifting universes to finish battles other Sams couldn't. Mental has been hunting the hero across realities, and in many timelines, he's already won. Now, it's your turn to push back. To advance, you must bring down his five lieutenants, each a formidable boss in search of total annihilation.

Wield a relentlessly destructive arsenal of devastating weapons, unlock powerful boons, and experiment with run modifiers that reshape gameplay. In true roguelite fashion, death is never the end, and each run opens the door to new strategies and limitless possibilities across the Shatterverse.

MULTIVERSE MAYHEM

Reality cracked and now Serious Sams from multiple universes are fighting the same war. Team up across shifting worlds, collide with alternate versions of the legend, and bring guns-blazing chaos to timelines that were never supposed to meet.

BIG GUNS, SERIOUS DAMAGE

Pack the classics, then crank it into the weird. Wield a mix of iconic Serious Sam staples and brand-new toys, built for one purpose - clearing arenas when Mental's hordes decide hundreds is a warm-up. Explosive, loud, and extremely violent.

ESCALATING DESTRUCTION

A world full of unstable anomalies, hidden portals, and high-risk opportunities that can supercharge a run, or end it instantly. Push forward greater rewards, unlock powerful modifiers, and upgrades that permanently expand your possibilities.

MENTAL'S HORDE, REMIXED

Familiar foes are back, and they brought friends. Face a selection of classic Serious Sam enemies alongside fresh monsters, all under Mental's control, all engineered to overwhelm you, and all begging to be turned into mush.

ARCADE-STYLE FPS ENERGY

High-adrenaline, run-and-gun arena chaos, big battlefields, nonstop pressure, and perfectly-timed one-liners when everything's on fire. Shatterverse leans into the Serious Sam legacy and pushes it forward with procedurally shifting runs across hand-crafted arenas set in previously unexplored worlds.
📉💣𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3807745484 Now it’s Serious Sam’s turn to face embarrassment. Sure, the series had seen some weak 2D spin-offs over its 25-year history — mostly experiments —but the shooting always delivered a proper shooter, whether viewed from the side or top-down. But to get a sloppy, outright garbage installment like this.. one where the 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 and sluggish (even at high framerates), complete with those damn floating damage numbers.. that’s beyond any fan's patience. I kept hoping there would be something to latch onto — that, the artwork aside, the rest of the game wasn't made by AI, right? (The publisher actually censored the word "AI" in discussions, which spoke volumes.) Look, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗮 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗺𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲 featuring various Sams — and the concept of the franchise's first FPS roguelike — wasn't inherently bad, but where did those characters even come from? There were no alien, "Broken," or orphaned Sams; the series didn't even have memorable sidekicks — aside from "Kenny" in Serious Sam 4 — who could ha…

I've been a Serious Sam fan since Second Encounter back in 2002. Played all the games and I loved them. One of the things I like about this franchise is that it's always evolving, all the game are different. Yeah, the main games kind of follow the same formula (well except for SS2) but they all have their own identity, and they also do a lot of weird Spin off. Side Scroller, RPG, Top down shooter... you name it. So, for me, it was not particulary a big shock to see another spin off with a new formula. A roguelite FPS with a more cartoony look. At first I was not particulary impressed by what I saw from the first trailers and gameplay videos, but I was still curious. Plus, the price is low, and my girlfriend gifted me the game. And once I played it, it really clicked with me. The combat is satisfying, all the classic monsters and weapons are here, the game is funny and doesn't look bad at all, and one run is about 1h long, so it's perfect when I just want to play a quick game after work or before bed. On the other hand, not everything is perfect. As of this review, they already did one patch, but I still got several crashes and softlocks. I hope they will patch them soon. I al…
