Night Swarm

Most of the game assets are generated with AI, so they game doesn't really have a consistent art style or theme which honestly does a lot of harm for a game where it's all visuals. Because you can point out what assets were made realistically, and what was thrown into Gen AI. Dialogue is also dull, and I suspect the story and script was also Generated. The game itself is also dull, once you get certain skills you don't really have to do much, and it gets very repetitive. I finished the game with 15 hours, but the game asks you to grind it to hell and back to get to the end game, and its genuinely not worth it or interesting enough to maintain that. This game also feels mostly left behind as of the latest patches. I wouldn't recommend this game unless you are really hungry for a bullet heaven, and even so there are better options out there. Spare yourself the time, as the devs couldn't even admit they use AI in the description, and fundamentally they relied on it so much the game lacks any charm and feels like it was cooked up in a lab.

I cannot recommend Night Swarm in its current state. There are some genuinely baffling design decisions here, and unfortunately, they add up to an experience that feels more frustrating than rewarding. For starters, UI and environments actively get in your way. The stats screen often disappears when you pause or enter skill selections, so you’d better memorize your caps and bonuses. Graphics settings don’t consistently save between sessions, and setting shadow opacity to 0% somehow still leaves shadows visible. Want improved performance? Good luck finding it. At one point, the normal level progression decided to hand me Hell difficulty when Nightmare should have been the next unlock while I got stuck in the rune vampires chamber stairs leaving me to ask who playtested this. These aren't just little isolated annoyances. They make the game feel like it hasn't been fully thought through. The level and boss design doesn't help. The Big Bad constantly throws inconvenient mechanics at you, which is fine in principle. The problem is that some of these mechanics feel arbitrary rather than challenging. It's a nice game, some of the wepans graphic can be better but so far I like it
