SHOCKFACE feels like someone dug up a lost 90s survival horror game, sprinkled in a gloriously B-rated slasher plot, and said, “Yep, ship it.” The fixed cameras, old-school movement and general awkward charm brought me straight back to that era, and honestly, I enjoyed it. It also knows when to leave: not too long, not too short, just enough time to enjoy the madness before it starts overstaying its welcome. The story is cheesy, ridiculous and very much like a low-budget horror movie you somehow end up watching until the credits roll, and I mean that in the best possible way. SHOCKFACE does not try to be something bigger or flashier than it needs to be, and that confidence is exactly what gives it its charm.

If you enjoy games like Clock Tower or the Puppet Combo games: this might be for you. It's a fun little horror game where i especially liked the lighthearted silly vibe. The stalker mechanics needed a bit more conceptual polish but i still had fun with this.

A short and pretty easy stalker horror game with fixed camera angles akin to the old survival horror ways. I've never been a huge fan of stalker/run and hide style gameplay, but I do love fixed camera and survival horror, so take my thoughts on the gameplay with a grain of salt. I found the stalker to be quite well indicated - easy to tell when he was getting closer and from what direction - which is often managed poorly in these sorts of games. That said, I still got killed nearly everytime I encountered him. Which in this game isn't so bad since it is VERY forgiving - you'll get respawned right away in a pretty well chosen central area with no loss of progress at all (puzzles and key items - even keys you grabbed seconds before death). Now on one hand this seems maybe a little too easy, but on the other hand, it mitigated a lot of the inherent frustration I often feel playing stalker horror games, so for my money this is not really a complaint. The tank controls on controller are bound to the analog stick, an all too common oversight in games like this that really makes it feel like the developers don't really play the kind of game they are making. It's a fun Clock Tower inspired survival horror. Short and pretty easy but entertaining.

Quite a good little game, really enjoyed the style of it, controls were a bit weird but got used to them after a few minutes. Would love another game like it maybe based on a real story.
