Z.O.N.A Project X VR

Buy Z.O.N.A. Origin instead, this just plays like a worse/smaller version of Origin

I have played these Kinds of games alot over the years . Flat screen and VR. And I rate these Zona projects higher than things like into the radious and stalker and a few others. This one has a dark spooky feel to it. the weapons and enemies and exploration is all well balanced. really immersive. On a side note , This game is far far better than into the radious 2. itr1 was good , but ITR2 sux donkey donuts . I would go for this anyday. but it is PCVR so if you have to play stand alone get into the radious part 1. stilll really solid.

If you liked Into the Radius (1), with all it's flaws, you'll likely have fun with this. This game is first, so it can be a little rough around the edges, but it is still fun. The voice acting was terrible, though I think the dev may have updated it, as I noticed an improvement when starting over a few months later to knock out the last achievements. The weapons need some balancing (last I played). The sequel Z.O.N.A. Origin is much more polished and balanced by a lot, a better entry point if you're spoiled in VR. Yet if you want to play from the beginning, and don't mind a little less polish, I'd still recommend. I had a lot of fun at the part where they hint you should take a machine gun (Think M60), but I was cocky and just took an smg, AK and pistol. So many mutants... Several emergency reloads later, including some "American reloads" (including from one rifle I had just looted), I made it. I felt so bad ass afterward. The dev is pretty helpful too, worth supporting.

[b]Tl;dr:[/b] Not bad for a jank S.T.A.L.K.E.R. clone in VR. [b]Pros:[/b] + Looked pretty good on maxed out settings + Weapons sounded good + Easy to use weapon attachment/repair system + Good set of VR options + Environments were atmospheric + Save anywhere + Worked with PSVR2 [b]Cons:[/b] - Settings would randomly reset - Enemy AI was pretty braindead - Not everything was translated - Story wasn't great - The first time I used the shotgun it worked fine but awhile later when I went to use it, I was unable to do the pump action. [b]Closing Thoughts:[/b] I thought this was pretty good and liked it more than Into the Radius. I have the second game lined up already which hopefully has some better enemy AI.

Overall a pretty good game for VR especially for a one man made game. I enjoyed the ambience and the variety of weapons. There were a few things that bugged me but it didn't make the game unplayable just caused me to die a few more times than intended. I like having to endings. I will be starting Z.O.N.A Origins next! Wish I knew how to find the easter egg for the last achievement.
