Moonlight Dialogue

I will be writing this review from a perspective of someone who hasn't played the mobile version of this game. I love this game! So far it's only in early access and I was slightly afraid of how much content there'd be for this price. However, I'm currently 10 hours into this game and I've only gotten one ending so far! Can't wait to get the other available endings. The only complaint I have at the moment is the translation, as sometimes the sentences do not make any sense or there's slight mishaps of the wording. As someone who has played a similar game to this years ago (Mystic Messenger), I totally recommend this game for fans of MM! It has a similar vibe and atmosphere, but it does not restrict the player from constantly checking your device to catch the chatrooms, the player can play at their own pace. Can't wait to try out other routes, especially Sooha's <3

(Note: A bunch of updates/fixes were implemented. So kudos!) Now, the game itself: I think the game has potential! Currently there is only Jiwon's route available and you can get up to the first Date with Sooha. I really like the artwork and although this is my first time playing a Mobile Otome game... I got the gist of it. I will say that it's a REALLY long game and it's slow to start. So consider this a slow burn game I suppose. XD (Thanks for adding the Chat speed up button as well). Now I will comment on my own experience: (Do not get discouraged from what you read about here. Form your own opinions on the matter, as your own gameplay might be far different). So my first time around I got thrown onto Jiwon's route. Okay, cool. I was getting the basics down and eventually reached an ending. A really bad one. "Distortion". I was frustrated, as it was such a dark and disturbing thing, but afterwards I decided to try again. Different this time. You see... Other Otome games teach us to cater to guy's likes and this one... Maybe not a good idea. Okay then. Different tactic and all that. Still failed. Same BE. "Distortion". At this point I was confused, so …

Finished Jiwon's route and honestly, the writing pulls you in slow, sweet, a little mysterious and then the plot twist hits and recontextualizes everything that came before. Well-paced reveal, the kind that makes you want to immediately start a second playthrough just to catch the foreshadowing you missed the first time. That said... Jiwon, buddy. The man gave me a collar. I wasn't ready for how possessive/obsessive his route gets once his true colors show. It's not a dealbreaker honestly it fits the psychological/darker undertones the game leans into but if you're going in expecting a soft, cozy romance, know that this route swings hard into intense/toxic territory. Not necessarily a bad thing if that's your kind of trope.
