Dangerous Waters

Spent over an hour watching the tutorials included in the game files just for me to see it doesn't work on newer operating systems when I finally went to play it. RIP my time.

Still the best naval sim ever made.

Although obviously an older game, it's still the best "modern" subsim there is. Yes, better than [b]Modern Naval Warfare[/b] (2026 early access). If you're looking for an overall modern *strategy* game, [b]Sea Power[/b] is king. The only problem is that installing (and configuring it to run great) can be a pain, but if you're a "navy nut" like me it's worth doing it. Tip: once you have it running nice, make sure to WinRar your game folder to a backup location for easy quick clean re-install, should you ever need it. You should do this anyway before you begin installing any mods (e.g. Reinforce Alert) so you have a clean "stock" fixed install to go back to. I have spent thousands of hours playing this. The funny thing is that my Steam playtime only lists a few hours; that's 'cos once you have it installed and configured (and added Reinforce Alert), you don't normally run it though Steam again. For me, I either run the exe directly or through DxWnd. I'm not going to write a full "for dummies" tutorial how to set it up since that's already been done over and over ad infinitum but let me just say [b]the key[/b] is to simply install the DgVoodoo2 wrapper (all you need are the d3d8.dl…

This isn't a game. It's unpaid military service.

I wasted my money purchasing this game, will not run on modern systems with not even recent gpu - there are are alleged fixes documented out there, but none of them work for my system - uninstalled and bought "Cold Waters"
